Hi there. Thanks to Tf-Direct for this essential upgrade. This is the murder arm upgrade that is absolutely essential for anyone that owns the ROTF Leader Class Megatron Mold. It replaces his right cannon arm with a fully articulated and modular arm with no assembly required. It comes with: - (1) Ratcheted, modular right arm and shoulder - (1) Articulated cannon forearm with rotating sword, claw, on/off switch and working light - (1) Articulated hand forearm with individual, dual-jointed digits - (1) Cannon barrel extension The detail and molding on this piece is perfect. It's almost completely movie accurate. It works in both tank and robot modes and the color matches very well with the stock ROTF leader Megatron. The plastic is not the highest quality. I feel like I have to be a bit careful manipulating this accessory. There are a couple of spikes and rings on it that if I put too much pressure on those specific points, I feel like they'd break clean off. The fingers in particular are not meant for child use. Additionally, the cannon and claw forearms don't come off interchangeably. You need to at least loosen one screw to be able to pull one out and put the other one in. I had to loosen a couple of screws on the top sword of the cannon arm in order to be able to extend it. Both spikes on the cannon arm are very articulated. There are no instructions. Lukelbs clued me into the on/off button on the cannon for the light. The cannon ships with a battery, and the on/off button on the left side of the cannon turns it on and off. The button itself is completely indistinguishable from molding such that I didn't even realize it was there without having to be told. Even then, I just found it by pushing every little piece on the cannon. It's great. This is a must-own accessory for movie fans.
There is a very small button on the left side of the cannon arm. It looks like part of the molding detail, but it is a small peg like button that pops in and out and turns on the light. Great review!
It's very easy to install as you just pop off the original Cannon arm off the mushroom style peg where it swivels for transformation. The new arm pops onto the same peg. You don't even need to touch a single screw or pin to install.
I bought this one too, and my only gripe is that it is really sharp. As in, I cut myself on the cannon blade.
Another question: Is this the same arm as this one? APX-02 & 03 Upgrade Set - Third Party Transforming Toys & Accessories Alien Attack Co. Different company name, so I'm not sure.
Huh. That's interesting. Looks identical, but the LED in mine is blue. Also, you don't get a ratchet gun or saw.
And also, the Dream Factory one is listed separately on BBTS as well: Dream Factory Arm & Cannon Upgrade - Third Party Transforming Toys & Accessories Dream Factory But it seems weird for two different companies to make the same add-on at the same time, no? *EDIT*: They are two separate versions after all.
