Now the world don’t move to the beat of just one drum. FansToys have ensured that Masterpiece-style collectors have an option other than just MakeToys Gundog or TFC’s effort when it comes to the chirpy green heroic jeep Transformer who was once meant to be the main human-loving TF liaison before Bumblebee. Criticisms of prior 3rd party efforts to nail this character in the expected aesthetic led to much excitement when FansToys revealed they were stepping into the Car Robot arena. With ongoing doubts about FT’s ability to sculpt a screen accurate head for their figures, FT-15 Willis was no different during its pre-production reveal. How did the almost final thing turn out? I absolutely love these reviews you do man. BUT!!!!....Thanks for making the wait for this figure harder.....jerk. Sincerely though, super informative, great comparisons with other offerings (I also hear the original voice actor when I look at this guy.), and your enthusiasm for the figure is infectious, even though I'm already excited for this figure to begin with. This will probably end up being one of my favorite figures of the year. Cheers sir!
Great review, Maz! Just a quick question, regarding to the side view mirror, Emgo's review show them being able to fall out of the socket easily. Did yours actually sheared off from its post?
That's right, it broke at the base of the post, so the base of the mirror is still attached to the vehicle. There should be a pic illustrating the breakage just above that text. Thank you both for the kind feedback! All the best Maz
I got to put my hands on Willis today at a convention. He's a must buy for me now! They really nailed it! The paint looks fantastic, with just a small hint of what looks like metal flake in the paint. Transformation is fun, and the sculpt is so good, especially the face.
