In space jettison some weight because we're going chigurh on the soul train. Decided to one more review before the 4th of July weekend. Well I will be spending it writing and messing around with my collection.
When I got robotical Don Cornelius out of his box he was already in that impressive train mode. Tell the truth, this highly detailed hell on tracks I did not transform for two solid days. Call me super geek but damn does he remind of the G1 Astrotrain. Transforming him I watched a reliable review on you tube first then read the instructions to transform chigurh after. The instructions are good but they're for from perfect. What I did, is transform him from train, to shuttle then to robot mode. In my opinion that was the easiest way for me to do it. Furthermore less transforming is involved doing the 'Galvatron 197' way. If you bought him, do whatever your heart desires jack.
    Good:
Die cast is in this figure and it's put in the right place...The legs. Very clever engineering for Dx9 in regards to making a figure that transforms into three modes. Face sculpt I absolutely love to death. Look at Chigurhs' face his mean mugging glare really pops in my pictures. I am digging the extremely red eyes too, looks like Chigurh is about cuss you out or something.
    Paint:
Chigurh paint apps are very detailed and masterfully done. It's crafty that 2 primary colors stand out in both vehicle modes. In particular train mode purple and gray. In Shuttle mode gray and purple also the attention to detail to add minor paint apps is small areas too.
    QC:
Minor stress on plastic on some areas on my figure but it's not 'panic' time, in regards he might break over time.
Everything else on Chigurhs body is sturdy and he has some 'heft' to him also.
    Bad:
The instructions needed to be a tad longer than one fold out sheet of paper. I don't mind having a booklet to transform any transformer I just want to be sure I am doing it right. Also I don't like to stop what I am doing sometime and refer to you tube review for aid in figuring out transformation. What I am about to say is not hurtful towards DX9 nor is it singling out third party companies. Sometimes some figures need 'alot' of investment into the creation of them. Therefore on some figures Third Party Companies knows a particular figure will be hard to do, just don't make a stat card for that figure. Instead put all the stats on the box. Don't get me wrong I love the art work and stats on the card. But to get more bang for my buck just put all the money towards the figure and instructions. So I can get the 'utmost' positive experience enjoying the figures I love from third party companies.
    Overall:
Over all I like Chigurh and all his modes. I am not going to gripe or bitch about his chubby shuttle mode. I actually dig it because it's unique and I forgive the gaps in shuttle mode.
    Gaps in the forearms:
After messing with them, I don't see how on earth they could've been filled because transforming Chigurhs arm was finger work out! The hollow forearms don't bother me anymore and that's why I didn't put this in the bad category. I know- I know people already got their nerd thongs in knot about it already. What's been said about it is old news, so I am not going get the plunge and bring old b.s. on what's been said in the past.
On my scale of 1 out of 10
I am going to give chigurh a rock solid 8. He can hold poses and he's durable. I can transform chigurh without worrying about breaking him.
