Any thoughts in the figure? I'm seriously considering these guys for my Classics Dinobots, but I don't like the reviews of Columpio. I will say that Cubrar looks great and you really captured that with these pictures. Nice work.
Columpio is a great toy with problems. I'm a big supporter of MMC's Feralcons and post in that thread all the time, and I can honestly say that I have more fun with Columpio than any of those guys. He's easy to transform, fun to pose, and a decent size. Some complain about plastic quality, kibble on the shin, ball joints at the hips, and no wrist swivel and to be fair they are al legitimate complaints whose importance varies depending on what you want form the figure. To me the Feralcons are great toys to display, Columpio is a good toy to have fun with.

Great toy, though mine came with a qc problem, piece of plastic that holds ratchet in place in the right shoulder had broken off and so turning the shoulder would turn it at the screw. I dismantled the shoulder whipped out some super glue get the ratchet and shoulder to stay together and shaved down the inside of the ring a bit. All seems fine now, but I can see it being an easy break on both sides.
I've gone through two figures now and they both broke at the shoulder plate ratchets. The tab that prevents the ratchet from moving just isn't strong enough and therefore snaps. The first one I had the right shoulder plate ratchet break. I sent it back to BBTS and got another one. Ironically, the LEFT shoulder plate ratchet broke. So I just took it apart and shaved off the plastic tab so both shoulders don't ratchet now.
Thankfully the super glue is holding, as for just letting it turn, I would be worrying about the screw stripping. Though it could have easily been avoided if they just made the peg and hole in the ratchet square.
I think the screws should be fine as it's the ratchet piece that's turning and not the screw. But to play it safe (and get some ratchet use) I think I'll superglue the ratchet down as well.
I've got Columpio. He's good, but has issues, mainly in some floppy joints and an inability to properly hold his own weapons. Cubrar doesn't have those problems. His joints are much tighter, and he holds his guns and swords much better. I'm not a fan of fiddly transformations, an issue a few 4rd party figures have. Cubrar is a touch more complicated to transform than Columpio, but only a touch, and no-where near as bad as I thought he was going to be. Main issue is getting his tail into the correct place in both robot and beast mode. Overall, the FP Dinobots are the ones that most appealed. Updates of G1 rather than slavish copies. I just with Slag's eyes were red rather than blue. Hey ho.
Bought Cubrar from a fellow member and first impressions of the dino and robot modes are they are awesome. Dude looks great and feels great he looks and feels like a tank. His joints are tight and and the plastic looks good. His transformation compared to Columpio is not as easy or fun. He has tight tolerances which makes it a chore to transform him. Keep in mind that I have only transformed him 2x maybe over time it will get easier. Overall I am glad I picked the fp dinosaurs and will definitely commit to them because their design grabs my attention the most.
I finally got my Cubrar today and so far I absolutely love him. They are both cool figures. I love the paint apps and the futuristic styling. I think the aesthetic for these guys is perfect for my Classics collection. I've got Columpio coming later this week and I can't wait for him.
My Cubrar arrived yesterday and man, is he awesome. There are noticeable improvements from Columpio (heft, joints, tabs), though the transformation is perhaps a tad over-engineered for my taste. The ONLY problem I have with him is limited robot head poseability, and it's not a big deal. One other thing... he is spiky as hell, I hurt my thumb while transforming him. The frill horns are so sharp I think I could put my eye out with them. Do not let children play with this figure.
Would you happen to be able to tell me how you dismanteled the. Assembly. My whole are attachment came off upon first transformation.
