Nice pics of G1 Trypticon thrown in there. Any images of the instructions to attach Armageddon to Utopia?
God Damnit. Now I think I need the Omega Supreme kit since they attach to the city mode so nicely. Damn damn damn.
I think its those little black pieces that come with the figure. Makes it look more like a city. I'm just guessing
I got quite a few QC issues on mine. The black paint on the right side (with the red window) looks like it was painted with a brush and is rubbing off in the corners. Same with some places on the head. One of the red translucent pieces on his upper waist has a gash in it, which I tried to rub out with some polish to no avail. Both twin red cannons on his back won't slide correctly. I actually had to take them and physical extend or compact them if I want them in either position. One of his red handheld gun's handle has no friction, it just flops around. All this combined with the fact that half the body is the same piece just flipped, I'm thinking about returning or selling him. I showed it a causal collector friend of mine and he asked me if I got a mis-assembled one. I don't think it's anywhere near the $400 price tag. I was all gung ho for Pandimus, but if they are going to reuse parts like this I'm passing. For a $400 production, I guess I just had high expectations. I am also partially to blame for not noticing the screws in promotional photos, until I had it in hand. I guess to me it looks a lot more distracting in hand. So not to sound like I am trolling... If you ignore the exposed screws on one side of the body, it looks very imposing, some of the joints hold the figure very well. I believe they did a great job with the carrier mode where it still has the general G1 look, but actually looks functional. Also one last thing just as an FYI. You cannot have both white towers folder down at the same time. So if you want a cleaner robot mode the towers would basically have to point straight back, due to the way the hinges fold.
I just got this figure and I have a bit of an issue. When putting the guy in the starship mode I noticed that the long gray plastic tab on the right (that slides into the slots under the head and ship bridge) is upside down. It will NOT slide into place. Is that just mine or everyone's?
Here is the actual issue I have... This is the ankle joint here: As you can see,the bit in the middle which rotates with the foot is raised higher than the rest of the joint. If you look straight down the leg along the plane the ramp slides, this is what you see: So this central part is actually in the way of the ramp sliding down and over the top without catching - if it was flush with the rest of the ankle it could slide right over the top but clearly this hasn't happened. And this is what we end up with: So that's kind of a mess. I think I'm just going to file down the offending protrusion to allow the ramp to slide over the top without incident, but I'm not thrilled to do this on such an expensive toy! Do any other people with this toy have the same issue?
I love mine, he's a joy. The only issue I have is that they neglected the screws which secure my left tank tread into place, so the piece came right off his hip. I think I can fix it myself if I find the right screws somewhere. Otherwise, he's a delight. Love, love, love the carrier mode.
