Yeah, Fakebusker's engineering is original, but the character is not. Both of these are based on Vos, a character from the comics. Obviously MMC is obscuring it as Megatron for April fools day, but looking at the two there's nothing identical between them, they're just both based on the same character.

At first I was like "WTF, there's a market for this?" but then the date got pointed out.

(It's the legs that kill it as Megatron for me.)

I like (or liked) MMC a lot. But I'm getting very tired of them anouncing every idea they ever have as an upcoming toy when most will either never come out or will be sometime in the 2020's. It's getting to be impossible to take any anouncements beyind Predking seriously.

If it's april fools,   but that doesn't really change my point.

I actually like it. just not as Megatron. with a different head, chest, and weapon it'd make a fantastic DJD Vos. but hes just too skinny to be Megs

 

well, it is possible they want to see interest on a product while putting it out as a joke, or a joke might turn into a real product. Lot of fans showed interest for predaqueen, and thus it might get done one day.

 

Yay!!! Lego has started making Transformers toys. Oh wait, that insn't some Bionicle thing?

 

Look closer, the design is identical other than the chest and arms. The legs are identical, the gun barrel is identical, same back kibble, it even has the exact same brace/stand in alt mode.

 

Need to ask Fakebusker about it... but that is a darn good question.

Imagine it's probably too heavy to wield for him though.

It would be awesome if they did talk with FB to make this real... well... the DJD version rather... because I'm no artist... so painting his Shapeways print would be... suboptimal... =/

Maybe its some wierd Targetmasters project they are hinting at, I know this may be wishful thinking on my part I just was a new Pointblank and triggerhappy from someone. =)

 

I actually would love tiny little targetmaster dudes like this who do more than flip around to become a coherent gun. I know Megatron is a joke, and even with those legs I find it pretty damn neat-o.

I didn't know Vos turned into a Sniper Rifle though.

 

The legs are not identical (take a look at the feet and the knee guards that aren't attached on the sides), the barrel is completely different, they both have back kibble just like Vos does in the comics, and the stand is not identical, it has two telescopic marks on each leg versus Face-off's one.

I've looked plenty close, they're similar, not identical, and they're both derivatives of how the character actually looks. I'll admit, the transformation seems very simlar, but there is no exact duplication of any surface details.

 

Although this is nice and a clever alternative to the "Megatron turns into a gun" thing, I have my fingers tightly crossed for Vos
