I hope he's big, big enough to stand along side all the other great Prime Toys, and has a decent amount of diecast, poseability and durability throughout, I love that PE has been improving on their toys with every piece they make.

attachment to the character or not, this looks very promising so far.

I have a feeling being this is the first 3P Beast Wars type transformer, it'll set the bar for future 3P beast formers.

even better than TFC's version of their Predacons.

PE has been doing some big characters. With warden, scorponok, and now this. Really excited to own this plus if they still do their version of big convoy, these will all make for some great figures.

I hope its somewhere between deluxe and voyager. His lean design makes him feel like he should be much smaller than something like warden imo. Big convoy at Wardens size would be nice though.

Really hope it has wardens level of durability

You didn't miss anything good in Lio Convoy. He looked cool abstractly, but in person was a floppy mess and had a rather lackluster transformation. Something that could take the best ideas from it and do them well is definitely a project worth watching.

The smaller remolded Robot Masters version was better.

Big Convoy's Robot mode is awesome, his Beast mode is mostly a brick.

How was Big Convoy regarded? Seemed like quite a bit of shell-forming, but looks nice.

Big Convoy's beast mode sucked but the robot mode is probably the best rendition of Prime. Big, great articulation, and a boat load of weapons. One of the best TFs ever.

I don't know that an oversized gun permanently attached to a mastodon trunk and two leg missiles (à la Beast Wars Megatron) are a boat-load of weapons, but he did have great articulation—notably able to actually hold his matrix properly—despite a large amount of shell-forming kibble.

Big gun with working missile launchers, working leg missiles, and tonfas. Not many TFs I can think of with that many weapons. Hell, I can't even think of another TF toy with tonfas.

It's kinda cool. Deffinitely a breath of fresh air. But I can't help but feelign like they're doing "robotic" beastformers because they know they can't do organic shapes and skin/fur textures.

But it's a robotic Lio Convoy. Except the head design, which is just a generic-ish Prime-y head.

I beg to differ, I just don't think they'd appeal to a lot of people other than the hardcore beast war fans, that aren't that many to begin with, at least not enough to create demand for third parties to thrive on.

And hence the revisiting of G1 figures over and over again because thats where all the money is at, there is more nostalgia and they clearly sell better than beast wars.

Yeah, my excitement for Lio Convoy is a bit tempered by the fact that if it was just him it'd look like they were just appealing to the combined popularity of recent Third Party robotic lions like Razorclaw and the obvious appeal of Primes and Convoys, but it's a bit harder to be pessimistic about Big Convoy. I mean how often do we get mammoth Transformers?

Unless of course he ends up turning into this thing from the comic instead:

Which would be cool and all, but I think I'd definitely prefer something more elephant-like if Leonidas is going to have a lion mode instead of an IDW-style Cybertronian vehicle...
