Not preordering until I see dino mode. I'm not going to get burned again like with Gigapower Snarl.

Damn, I had better sell something. These are coming out quick!

Looks good. More of a classic G1 look than Giga's, which I prefer.

    Preordered!

I really liked Giga's Snarl but I definitely like the FT robo arms/dino-hind legs better. I was on the fence over "showing some leg" for Snarl, but this line drawing makes me lean towards hiding them.

Still might get Giga Sludge for the size standout, as long as it doesn't differ too much style-wise with the FTs.

Well, I said on the Soar thread that I thought making Snarl's derpy toon design look good would be a challenge, but this looks very promising. To be fair, though, we won't know anything until we see the actual figure and dino mode. Line art is nice but proportions may need to be sacrificed when the realities of a transforming, thiree-dimensional figure come into play. Still, off to a good start.

As for pre-order...I'll wait for Captured Prey. With Soar and Ultra Magnus already on pre-order I'm gonna have a hell of a time convincing the wife.... :p

For a more in depth visual explanation of how the quoted effect can occur, see MP-22.

PS - I think FT will still nail it. :)

Line art is good to see. At least we have an idea of what they are going to attempt to do in 3D. I think even a digital (pro E or whatever they use) render would give us a greater idea of the final product. I have faith that it will look good though. Looks like fans will have great options for two styles of a Dino crew! Nice. =)

If I've figured it out correctly it's pretty clever how the dino head transforms but there's going to be a few thin arms that it will sit on.

The issue here is this guy has a lot more panel detailing than Scoria. Interested to see how it translates to a figure.

I hope they tone down the details. In my opinion that is what makes FT look closer to MP over Giga. The line art appears too busy to me. Let's just hope it ends up with a cleaner Scoria look.

Well, re: the detailing, this wouldn't be the first MP to have a ton of surface detail in the sketch that isn't too noticeable on the final product.

MP Starscream has quite a bit after all.

You're right, it does seem a bit more detailed than Scoria or Soar - I hope FT isn't changing their style just to match GP, much like people in the GP thread didn't want the GP versions to be too influenced by FT.

So far I think I like this guy more than the GP version. I really like the less detailed solar panels and the slightly longer tail spikes. I really don't like it when the tail spikes are too short - on a real Stegasoarus they were quite long, and it doesn't make sense that a robot warrior version of a Stegasoarus would shorten them for some reason. :)

Where I like GP's more is what I can see of the headsculpt - FT's looks a bit too much like Sideswipe in my opinion, and I think it's mostly because the "horns" are a bt too pronounced.

FT don't change your clean style just because you have competition. Scoria in my opinion has just enough detail, keep the detailing to that percentage and you will have another winner. Good example of going over board IMO is the tail. The G1 toy has minimal detailing and a nice clean read. I think your putting too much detail for detail sake. Remember your eye needs areas of rest.

Looking at Cheem's comparison photo, it's obvious we have 2 very good looking MP representations of Snarl ! For me, the clever engineering within Sever's bot legs make it look a lot cleaner yet the legs also have more bulk and toes ;) , obviously not taking into consideration the visible dino legs on Giga's version, and I prefer the forearms on Sever as well. If I were looking for a more toy accurate MP Snarl, I'd probably choose Giga, but I think I speak for most when I say most fans want a toon accurate MP level Snarl, and it looks like FansToys has done it again ! Dino mode pics will seal the deal for sure, so dalianjj and FansToys, if you want to see a huge wave of pre-orders comin at ya, I suggest you shows us whatcha got :)
