You need to slow down on the kool-aid, zfarsh…
first people weren't allowed to make a poll about Soar's wings and now this.

As long as Cyc79 keeps the first post updated with current pics and info that's really the only "control" that matters.

@ Cyc79, edited: alright, great to hear and my apologies, hoping this thread is kept updated during 2015.

@ Negamegatron: you still into Warb-01 / blast off? I got tuned out myself. What you getting this year anyways?

If there's an official silhouette personally I'm fine with this figure having its own thread. It's all speculation at this phase anyway. And who knows, maybe FT will push this guy to market sooner than their 3rd Dinobot, if simply to be another option to DACA's.

EDIT: Confirmed for 2015, so never mind about pushing their Skyfire up.

I don't put to much faith in that silhouette. I imagine that it is based off of their concept drawings or another image used as a place holder. Look at the differences between Soar and his silhouette.

This is where I put my faith.

Didn't we use to have threads based solely on silhouettes all the time anyway? :)

I'm still on the fence about FT, personally. I think for as much as they got right with Quakewave, they got just as much wrong. Scoria, on the other hand, blows me away. Then there's Soar - final judgment can't be passed until we see finished colored photos, but right now, I'm about 50/50 based on its smaller size, snout horn thing and the very underwhelming way that the alt mode feet just seem to dangle there.

So with all those factors, with what I consider a 50/50 track record thus far, I think they could just as easily knock their Skyfire design out of the park as they could completely botch it. I'm obviously hoping for the best, especially now that I decided to pass on Kronos thanks to the (imo) 'meh' alt mode and complete lack of landing gear.

I wish Mastermind Creations would enter the MP styled G1 season 1'ners arena. I don't like their Hexatron or Morphers that much but the Feral Rex figures kick-ass and convince me they could do it if they wanted.

Ft is my fav. but I like options.

Three combiners: Warbotron and dualing "Predakings"

I've got preorders for Hasbro Arcee and Chromia, but they may not stick around depending on images (and deluxes are so small now). I've also got the Leader Jetfire on preorder.

Too bad FT Skyfire is most likely 2015, otherwise 2014 could be a hat-trick Skyfire/Jetfire year…

This was mentioned in the recent interview Shattered Glass Uncut did with FansToys. They said after the Dinobots they were making Skyfire then Blaster.

I'd probably love an FT skyfire at about 10 inches, but at 14 inches or whatever this monster will end up being, I'll pass. There's a point at which toys stop being hand-candy for me and start being shelf-sitters, and I'm not into the latter.

I still look forward to seeing what FT does with this, though. Probably going to look killer.

I asked dalianjj a while back about the height because I'm building my own curio. About 14" as well. For scale reasons I think it has to be, but I agree about some of the size hype on these boards, I don't get it either. I'd like a really detailed voyager, or MP-10 sized at most ofr size. Otherwise they just get unusable. I'd be shot for saying this but I don't get fortmax either. Don't have original but I bought the encore and was not impressed. It's sad considering the engineering at that time to have so much space to work and so very little actually happening. It's just big piece of plastic with a few joints.

Man it's going to be a long wait for this one. I may end up buying Daca Toys Kronos to help fill the void.

Hopefully dalanjj can drop some renders and/or drawings so that we can at least see some of the progress here!

No. I know about those, but they have neither the sculpt nor quality to interest me.

Yeah. I don't care a whit about scale. I just want good toys.

    Agreed.

I'm really looking forward to FT Skyfire, but at 14" he's probably to big to enjoy. A figure of that size is not something you pick up and fiddle with.

I'd sacrifice scale for this one and make him a bit smaller. Perhaps similar to MP-22.

Well, I'm all about scale for my MP collection, and if he's that big, I'm on board (especially since I'm in love with Scoria right now). Since he's far enough away, I kinda hope they get a chance to tinker with his design after Bumblebee is released, to allow Bee to fit in the cockpit. Now that'd be pretty awesome IMO.

A 14 inch figure is in no way shape or form going to be able to have a cockpit big enough for a deluxe figure. He would need to be about 35-40 inches tall at least for that.

Yup. MP Bee would be too big. On the other hand, FT or some other 3P could make a nifty little semi-articulated bot mode Bee at targetmaster scale or so. (As a way of showing how much bigger skyfire gets in jet mode.)
