I really wanted to drop my Soar pre-order and stick to official MP's but I just can't do it. Scoria simply smashes everything from the official MP line and Soar looks to be even better. Receiving Bumblebee this week just further reaffirmed how budget tight the MP line is, the figure is absolutely crap (sorry BB lovers just my personal opinion). Ultra Magnus isn't getting me excited either it looks like it's as bad as MP-09 (no surprise it's the same designer). I'm definitely looking forward to Soar more than anything else. Fanstoys has officially taken over Takara in my books.

Funny story - my wife doesn't check the invoices for these figures I buy so when she looks at my MP collection she believes me when I say I bought them for cheap. She took another look the other day and I had Scoria transformed in dino mode and she screamed, "When did you buy that and how much did you spend!?!?!?!". I tried to convince her it was as cheap as the others but she wasn't happy to say the least. Going to have to tip toe around Soar now. Not sure how to get it in the display without her noticing another premium figure.

 

 

No he was right, this is progress. It is news of the completion date though. Wish it was the date he was shipping rather then the date FT is shipping, but oh well.

Yeah I'm waiting on BadCube for a good Bumblebee. Just blind faith there.

As for getting it into your display, if it is thick enough start it in the back barely visible then over time slowly move it forward to where you want it. Give her time to see it in the periphery rather then directly.

 

Man I hope FT's has the right shipping address to Captured Prey this time. That bit of an extra wait sucked when it came to Scoria.

 

I am sure both sides will take extra precautions this time around.

Consider yourself lucky Scoria is the worst it's gotten. If you ever got sucked into the figures I buy (more than twice the size and price of Scoria) I think you'd be murdered.

 

Awesome news about Soars tentative release date! Just got some Eness decals in yesterday so I'm all set to sticker him up right out of the box.

 

Thanks for the tips guys. Going to place him at the back and slowly move him forward. Biggest problem is the bling. If that catches the eye I'm done for.

I hadn't thought of the bigger figures. If Fanstoys make an Omega Supreme I'm going to have to buy her a gift to ease her in at the shock of seeing a massive robot in the display case. lol that sounded dirty.

 

Wow. I'm 99.9999% honest with my wife on the figures... She's ok with them as an "investment" (showed her the increase in quakewave's value)... Plus she knows my commitment to g1 s1 only figures, so that's 30ish toys compared to what she calls "the freaky manchilds" aka people with entire rooms full of toys from wall to ceiling.

 

Well the matte wings should reduce the eye catch a little. Then once you have worked him out maybe switch the wings if you want. You could also use the clear beak early on, and put the missles in his hands. Then all his bling should be hidden pretty well towards the back, just the missles and dino feet would still be chrome and they would be at least partly hidden behind others.

 

Hey, I have zero problems with what people collect. Don't have to justify it to me! My wife would think you are crazy, but she doesn't post here, so you are safe!

My wife knows I spend a lot on toys (*checks PayPal* about $450 last month) but I don't have to disclose the details thankfully. I do, however, assuage her by telling her I've sold some other stuff on eBay to pay for it. Though, I work a second job to help fund my toy purchases (and gas, coffee, lunches, etc) so that helps keep it off the books. =)

The only good thing about up front payments for pre-orders is that everything that I'm waiting for is paid. No crazy huge batch of charges if all the new crap comes out in the coming weeks. MP Bee is in the mail but I'm waiting for Soar, Transistor, Apollyon & MP Magnus - all claiming December/Jan releases.

 

hahaha yeah and i have seen pics of that room.


I also have only one room.....actually its 2 if you count the work room attached... see I already broke the rules
