Are there any figures that you find particularly jarring to your eyes when displayed with official Takara masterpieces? If there are then is the thread for you. With the exception of Scoria, Quakewave and Huff everything else fails to blend in, IMO, including a lot of figures deemed MP worthy. But the figures I find the most jarring are;

Classics: All of them, each and everyone one of them.

I-Gear: All of them, particularly the van bros, God, those things are ugly with kibble up to their asses and what not. I've always felt this way about them even before the new scale was announced. They just don't blend with MP's pre and post MP-10 scale, IMO.

Hexatron: A gigantic classics figure that has no place in the MP world as far as I'm concerned.

Kentucky Fried Magnus: This figure is just all kinds of MEH! A figure that doesn't know what it wants to be!? It looks like a classics figure but it's way too big to put amongst them, you'd think with it's size it could blend in seamlessly with masterpieces as well...right? Wrong, it's way too big to scale with that line and doesn't scale well in both modes actually. The more glaring issue is that it doesn't even have their aesthetic as well. A woeful figure, IMO!

Really don't think we need a thread devoted to just bitching about particular figures, when there's enough of that going on in their respective threads to choke a horse.

*shrugs* I have a mixed collection and so far my only MP figures are seekers, Faith Leader and Quakewave.
If people want to have them separate, that's cool.
If people want to display them together, that's cool.
If people want a mix of official and unofficial toys, that's cool.
If people want to try and enforce their own display beliefs and views on others, that is NOT cool.

If you don't like how someone displays their toys... don't comment.
If you DO like it, tell them such.

It's not like they're coming over to your house and forcing you to display toys in any way other then the way you like^^

Since you asked, this figure is particularly jarring when displayed with my Takara MPs:



He's kinda like Citizen Stack (which I have on the way); he doesn't really know where he fits in. Where does he, in fact, fit in? Short answer: anywhere. Long answer: everywhere.

EDIT: Oh wait, you probably meant which TRANSFORMERS don't fit in, didn't you???

 

Agreed 1000% with everything you already mentioned. In addition, I also have to throw in TFC Devastator, PE Reflector, original G1 everything, Robotech anything, whatever those 3rd party Insecticons are, and even every single one the official black repaints of Prime, Rodimus, Soundwave, etc. To each their own and all that, but seeing all those figures in MP display shots just kills it for me. To date, in fact, I think I've only seen one solitary guy post what I consider to be a killer AND proper looking MP collection (which factors in that he also had everyone properly transformed - which is rare when you see how many people keep Prime's arms pulled all the way out, the Frumble twins missing waists, etc).

Masterpiece Grimlock doesn't really ft in with MP to me. I use it as Classics Grimlock. Same with the cassettes.

This is a negative thread. Most of the things malware5 mentioned were never meant to go with MPs. Give 3rd party companies credit for anything they provide to the fan base, without them there would only be like 25% of the figures out to buy and I'd be pissed every time I'd walk down the toy isle and see the god awful movie figures that will clog the shelves till the day I die.

 

I think the OP just means that it gets annoying to see tons of people shoehorning stuff into MP that he feels shouldn't go there. Hexatron is a frequent example of this.

I'm personally just as strict with what I include in my MP collection, but I really couldn't care less what anyone else chooses to do with theirs. Whatever makes you happy is totally cool. Does it bother me to see Hexatron and the iGear van bros with MPs in other peoples' collections? HELL naw. Would I personally put them with my MPs? Also hell naw.
