Was this playset always this expensive? I don't remember when it came out. The seller has 80 of them for a low, low price of $1000 each. It' so freakin' cool but the price is crazy: CA Igear Transformers IG TF007 CCC Computer Control Center | eBay Would you pay $1,000 for it?
I remember it being in the $120 range when it was released. And hell no, I would not pay $1k for that. The panels didn't always stay together, and the stickers that came with the set kind of sucked...reprolabels came out with a higher quality sticker set for it.
I wouldn't but It's the curse of Supply and Demand. There's not a whole bunch of them out there and this seller knows TF Fans want it so he feels obligated to raise the price to ridiculous prices so those who CAN buy it will end up paying an arm and a leg for it.
It was clearanced down to around $99 at BBTS at one point, always wished I had pounced at that price. Eventually got one on ebay for around $260 when the new reprolabel stickers were announced. Got around the assembly issues by taping the panels together in the back. The whole thing fits great inside an IKEA billy display case. Still the only way to get a great Teletraan-1, unless you make one out of papercraft.
I bought mine for $90 on sale at BBTS when it first came out and then modified it a bit! Placed it on sale a year back for $1,500 just to see what it will bring. According to the listing he's got 80 of them. Make him an offer (much lower than asking price). He has to know he'll never sell anywhere near 80 at that price.
I hadn't seen this in a while. I remember seeing it a few times when it was still a work in progress. I'm not sure I ever saw it finished. It's wonderful!
Lots of random IGear going up in prices. Saw some PP05W Ironhides for $200+ and Igear Coneheads going $900+ ...madness..
Once an item becomes hard to get the value goes up. Though with I hear when it gets to a certain level, they will probably rerelease a few with slight differences
It's Lizenghui. By default that means overpriced. He will accept some lower offers, but don't expect a big drop. Also don't believe his stock counter, it fluctuates as much as his shipping costs.
Man... i really should have gotten one of those back in the day. Oh well. I bet it's possible to custom build something better anyway if I really put my mind to it.
