I've seen the metroplex with the g1 limbots. Never knew that about tryp!!!!! Cool beans!

Okay, so Hasbro Metroplex is "over 2 feet," but is quite lanky compared to the High Moon interpretation.

Meanwhile, MakeToys Metroplex is only 18.5", but proportioned far closer to the way we see this Metrotitan in FoC.

I was immediately turned off by Hasbro's Metroplex, but that lovely brick that MakeToys is putting out seemed pretty spot on to me. Looking at the spiky chunk of plastic that Scorponok is intended to be, I feel fully confident that MakeToys could pull it off, and I don't really care if it works well with the legends scale or not.

I just really want a High Moon designed Trypticon, over any reissue or, better yet, a well preserved Takara Trypticon, aka Gigastorm. In the same way that Matt Tieger was hyped to bring the Dinobots into the game world, I lust after having a spiky thunderlizard that isn't a Zoid.

And, for what it's worth, I like the idea of an orbital laser Trypticon. If you could hang him up, it would certainly make for an interesting diorama with the Autobot flyboys. Otherwise, you flip it pointy-side-up and it would be a hefty base/artillery.

You and me both. I keep asking (hounding) Planet X to reconsider. Alas, it is starting to appear like it's falling on deaf ears.

*sigh* time to bug Planet X again   hehe

 

So long as Maketoy's City bots do alright I'd imagine a Trypticon is in the cards.

 

Guys. It's already like 99.9% confirmed that Maketoys are doing Trypticon after Scorponok.

And that their city bot designer is none other than the same guy who did Genesis for PX.

So the chance of MT releasing an FoC-ish Trypticon are pretty freaking high right now. No need to worry about PX resurrecting that idea.

its confirmed both genesis's designer and MT's city bots designer are the same dude? Can you fill us in

 

Although it is great that the chance of Trypy being released is awesome, there are a few of us that would like (the assurance of) a WfC Trypticon vs. that of a G1'ish. Hence why I personally bug Planet X. If MT's version is as such, I will be estatic, but odds are it will not be slavishly WfC, but more of the original (if it even has WfC aspects at all) and there is nothing inherently wrong with that. Alas, for my personal collection desires, I will be without a WfC Trypy which makes me a sad CybertronianFan  

 

i believe the original info on trypticon came from catan, who is hit/miss but pretty much the best info we have.
he said it was next back in march, but he later reported it being delayed, which was also when he rumored the beginning of skorponok.

so when lazy says '99.5% confirmed' we can see he's just being a little dramatic. its just the best info we have from the most reliable person on the subject.

 

I think them not doing trypticon is not helping themselves. I'm certain px would pull more people if they could get a tryp vs omega setup going...I'm bummed we won't see it from them  

 

Yeah i confirm my hint. First mt was working on trypticon, after suddently move to scorponok. I think that they swap the project at early stage, or they started with the idea of trypty but they think that the model fit best to scorponok ( you can see some "remnant" in the pandinus feet and leg). Btw now only 1 city bot left to show...for 3 candidates, trypty , maxy and grandy...

i will ask if now there is fresh news or all the efford is on pandinus, guardia and other small project.
