Adding Gen Metro to my sales thread right now...

EDiT: Though I am still holding out hope for a more game accurate version like the one teased before.

yeha agree, which is why I think it makes more sense for this company to be making it at the height of Herc or Genesis. Don't go challenge the titan class where the market is already exhausted.

I'd rephrase 2 to "Doesn't even have an alt mode. He transforms into a robot sitting down."

IMHO, way better than Hasblown's piece of crap....

It'll probably be way too expensive though.

This looks bad ass but price will be the biggest question. Base mode is also a big question.

I don't think the Titan class is "exhausted" in that there is no demand for figures that size and/or that the class is overpopulated with figures that aren't selling.

That said, the real issue is, as many others have mentioned, whether something the size of whatever this Metroplex is going to be is going to mean a prohibitive pricetag especially given the trends of 3P items. Personally, I'd only consider buying a Metroplex if he towers over his buddies. I for one agree with you and suspect that this toy will not be as big as the official Metroplex - but if it's big enough, it could still work.

I'd definitely be interested to have more info on this (alt mode, gimmicks, size, cost), because I'm just not really feeling the official Metroplex. It's nice that a 3P has taken a shot at Metroplex official toy notwithstanding. It means they think there is a niche for another version in terms of sculpt, style and/or size. Good to have options. But if it's too expensive, well, I'll either do without a Metroplex or buy a significantly cheaper official one.

I don't think it would even be financially possible for a 3p to make and sell a titan class figure so I'm expecting this guy to be around Genesis size at most. He'll go great with my classics figures and be a nice companion for my gen metro and hopefully any future Tryp we get if he's as well made as he looks.

As I said prior he really gives me a FoC metro vibe though they've obviously deviated quite a bit with the design:

3rd party needs to learn to make toys the fans wants, not what their designer likes. :D

Without polling, that's going to be tough...what exactly is wrong with this Metroplex? Looks better than the one Hasbro released, IMHO.

Good luck then, not my cup of tea.

Genesis is a good example. ;)

Nitpicks are one thing but I don't see why people believe the Generations one is stretched out. He is thin in the waist and below the chest, but thats it. the proportions look about right otherwise. Or no worse than any other toy.

This new one has a super squat and tiny body, it looks pretty off to me. Unless it has more they are not showing its like he has a belt line then giant pecs, with nothing inbetween. Looks real off.

Yeah this is awesome. Heck, we can already see in the picture his fists will collapse in his arms. So he doesn't have visible hands in base mode. That already makes him better than HasTak's Metroplex.

Well, looks like the ACToys guys are not expecting this to be very large either. One of them speculates (L)eader class only. I suppose some inference could be made from size of parts relative to the screws. It seems to me that unless those are really big screws, this guy isn't going to be very imposing for a Metroplex.

Ah well. Will camp for more details anyways.

Agreed. I want Trypticon before another Metroplex as the generations one suits me just fine. No doubt once all the third party six guns come out the city mode will be more developed and in fact can be tailored to one's preference with all the configurations that the three companies could offer.

And that's not to mention that this metroplex looks incredibly small. I draw that conclusion by seeing a lot definition in the detailing and panel lining...something you can only get if you can easily fit the figure in one "close" camera shot. You can't do that with generations metroplex...
