Ok here's some pics. Obviously the G2 comic was a limited run anyway, but Sideswipe isn't exactly a major character in it, so there aren't actually that many scenes to choose from.

Ignoring bandolier shots these are most of his appearances.







There's also at least one frame of him not wearing the bandolier and with no symbol either, but generally I'd say it's fairly obvious he's meant to have it.

 

I couldn't find any bandolier shots with a symbol showing, but thankfully he doesn't wear it all the time! Mainly I wanted to make sure he appeared with the G2 logo and not G1 like the toy, which is the case.

Thanks for posting these. It is probably a safe bet to assume he was supposed to have it and they just didn't bother in the scenes where he has the bandolier and stuff. I am definitely missing those issues. I only had the first few and then I think one of the later ones... I wonder if IDW would re-release them as part of the Classics. It would be nice getting them in a TPB. You said you have one already but that is probably expensive to get now...

Now the question becomes. If I put a symbol on him do I go with the one that came with him which will make it just red on black, or do I go with Reprolabels which will have the white outline... Hmmm....

 

Ha ha I didn't even think about the white outline! But as I said, I'm not a huge fan of the G2 logo anyway, so it's better for me without a white edge so it doesn't stand out too much  

I got the two Titan paperback compilations (vol 1 'Dark Designs' and v2 'Rage In Heaven') back when they came out, probably about ten years ago now. Not sure if they've been reissued since but you might still find the Titan ones on eBay.

 

Got mine. Missing the sword holding clip and the two silver missiles. Flash abounds, the bazooka was not assembled well, and two of my mortar/bullet pieces for the bandolier had come unglued from the clip part. Together on mp g2 sideswipe, they look great, but holy shit...QC issues galore.

 

Finally got mine!

Extremely fiddly to get on him, but it finishes him off nicely...

Quick question regarding Masterpiece G2 Sideswipe:

Does anyone know if any third party company was making a head that's more like the original MP-12's head, albeit with a red helmet?

I don't really care for the scowling face... (The accessories however look exquisite.)

 

No, but you could always buy a Masterpiece Red Alert and switch the heads. Or even the KO

 

I know this is a huge necro of the thread, but I just picked up a MP G2 Sideswipe, and just found out about this upgrade. The only place I can find it still available is Ali Express, which is an even bigger gamble than Ebay, without any chance of getting your money back if/when you work out you've been scammed.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get one of these now?

 

Secondary market's the best you're going to do. It's highly unlikely to find a 7 year-old kit still readily available (unless it was utter trash), and Dr. Wu stuff in particular isn't massively over-produced.
