There was a similar very long lull between the first teaser images and the eventual correspondence given by Giga. It's not out of the ordinary or a sign of abandonment.

And I don't believe their silence is an act of poor customer service either. 3P companies can't be expected to give us a play by play all the time.

If GP is out of the picture, FT may not give an early bird discount when the pre-orders for their Sludge go up.

No, Scoria came onto the preorder scene before Gigi announced Their Snarl. There were early bird preorder discounts back then too

but pricing for swoop and snarl are priced lower than scoria, which is probably the effects from competition.

So after hearing the possibility that this was going under, I went straight to the source on facebook and asked if this was true. They finally responded, and said that we should not worry, and to keep an eye out for big things to come! Now, someone mentioned that they obviously wouldn't just up and say no, they aren't going to continue; which is a valid point, however the keep the eyes open more something big gives me hope they are continuing to move forward with this.

That is more reassuring then their last reply. Would of been nice if they had given a time frame like "big things in at TFCon Chicago" for example. If there is nothing by the end of that though I will go back to full panic mode.

That is along the very same reply I got myself today. " Zavien, do not worry, please be patient a little longer and watch for big things to come". So this tells me everything is fine and that this figure is still coming at the very least.

It comes down to how much faith you feel you can give them. If you have faith then you trust they are working on it, if you don't you are panicking.

It would be better to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's a pretty standard thing in transformer 3p world for companies to go quiet for long periods and then appear out of nowhere with the finished product. GP have replied to people. Some of the other 3p companies won't communicate at all with the fan base

LOL, wouldn't it be something if they would just come out and say: "Here is Snarl, we're almost finished with the rest too. Just needs some input from you guys and we're ready to go!
Oh Btw they combine now too, just for fun."

And we get a highly detailed show accurate group of Dinobots with a Combined mode that dwarfs Metroplex!

    Honestly, I have stopped waiting.

When FT announced their MP dinos I was over the moon. My favourite group, done by the people who did Quakewave (that I never got, but only heard good things about)? Sign me up. Then it became clear that FT were cartoon versions. Even their 'toy version' is cartoon version really. Scorias proportions. The lack of clear plastic on the head.... I couldnt get that set and really be happy, and at $1000 for the five, I want more than 'its ok, but....'.

So, when GigaPower showed up it answered all my requirements. To the point where I wasnt interested in any of the 10 (!) other companies doing these. Besides, the only other set that comes close to what I am looking for are the FP Lost Realm... and there is something 'off' about them to me too (although I can forgive more at a lower price, and they look cool in styling).

I put money aside, to the point where I had $300 set aside for the first member or two of these.

People talk about 'having faith', and 'working behind the scenes', and 'being patient' and thats all true and fine. But, in the time that Giga have advanced their design a little bit, FT have brought out their first figure and revealed the next two. FT have their first one out, and the second is due soon. TW have their first figure due soon.... The list goes on. At some point, 'having faith' and waiting turns into 'blind faith'.

And, although I accept that these rumours about going bankrupt are likely exaggerations and largely unfounded, I dont believe that they are entirely baseless. I think that there is a small element of truth in there. Maybe no enough to derail the company or stop the release, but enough to worry the retailers and core Giga guys. And all this before the first is released. If Guttur now is not perfect, then its on a knife edge for even a second one in that situation.

I believe in supporting a company if I like the designs, and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it has to work both ways. Blind faith is just as bad an idea as no faith.

The sad fact is that even without GigaPower, I am not interested in FT or any other set of dinos. So, after all of these 'dino wars' I may well end up without any update to one of my favourite teams from G1.

If/When Guttur is released, I will pick him up. And, I will get all of the dinos that Giga put out.... If I have the cash available when the pre-orders are live. But, I am not waiting. I am not putting aside cash in preparation for something that has been in the wings for this long without any reveals or new updates.

Giga had my attention for a long time. If they want customers like me to hang around, they are going to need to keep our attention. And right now, they are not doing that.

Well put CyberShadow, you make a lot of valid points.
I'd only like to point out that you compare GP to FT and TW, both of which are experienced toymakers at this point. While Giga, as far as I know, are new to this game, so it isn't a
    completely fair comparison.

That said, I hope they can present something soon, while the game hasn't moved too far ahead. They started out so brilliantly.

    Same here.

You are hanging around. Your definition of "waiting" is apparently putting aside money in readiness to make an immediate purchase if and when Guttur becomes available, whether via preorder or otherwise. However, as long as you are not in the market for an alternative to, and to the exclusion of, Guttur, they haven't lost you as a potential customer simply by being uncommunicative or not releasing product at this point in time.

Put it another way - you're not setting aside money now. But if Guttur suddenly came out and you found yourself short of cash, my sense is that you would go about raising that cash to buy a Guttur (since you say that the Dinobots are "one of your favourite G1 teams" and not just any old bunch of meaningless TFs). So nett nett, it will eventually make no difference to Gigapower and/or its retailer in terms of "sale made", just because you don't set aside Guttur money now.

I'm not disputing your right to decide what you want to do with your money and when ... just pointing out that what you intend to do won't make any practical difference from the whole "you're gonna lose a customer" angle.
