So I'm a little late to the party with this one... But how did these figures fair? Well received? Which of the 3 got the best accolades? From what I've been reading....seems like Backfiery. Thought I'd ask... ps...I really dig them with the G1 Repro upgrade!
I have all three and they are stout. All the joints are tight, color is good. They were my first FP figures. They are very photogenic. I would have to say I like Backfiery the best in terms of poseability but I love the other two cuz they are stocky.
I think they're pretty fantastic. I got all three of them when they came out and they were what made Fansproject my favorite 3P company.
excellent quality, but missing some of their trademark features: incorrect heads, pincers, chrome. i just modded mine best i could, im good til MP insecticons come out now.
KO's are OK. I have both and to be honest if you can't find the real thing for a decent price then get the KOs.
Admittedly, even should we see MP versions... I would never sell these three. They'd just be downgraded to either drones or some other second tier character rank.

Sorry for gravedigging this, but how are the fans project Insecticons holding up by today's standards? I like the stylised ninja look to these bots, how do they compare to the more recent Insecticons, e.g. fantoys? I found a set of brand new original Insecticons from a local seller will to let it go at roughly ~83 USD and I am thinking whether it's worth it or not...
I enjoy them and I still have them alongside 2 other 3P insecticon offerings, and some Hasbro stuff too. If you like the way they look from images and reviews, then I'd say they are worth it easily at that price. They lack a lot of what is iconic to the G1 insecticons, but they are their own kind of awesome. I have all 3 in alt mode... You can never have too many insecticons.
Ok gonna get it next week. December is shaping up to be an extremely expensive mth for me...Quantron, SG blindfire, sxs blurr, rioter despotron, and now this.
