Saw this posted a few minutes earlier in the BBTS thread. Is this a TF reference that I'm just ignorant to, or a totally new character? Looks kinda cool, regardless.

Ooooh. Ok. Yeah, I can see that now. That's kind of an interesting take on him/it.

It's a homage to Scalpel from ROTF. It's not terribly effective IMO, the legs jutting off the chest are kind of strange. They don't look like convincing ribs in bot mode, I guess they're mostly just dissection/holding arms for his microscope mode.

*Edit* whoops, really should have refreshed the page. Should have figure someone responded.

Yeah, It's a humanoid version of movie Scalpel. I think he needs two silver swords for weapons.

It's a Classic-ized version of the movie character Scalpel, the Decepticon medic. He has Scalpel's insect legs on his chest, and his eyes are remolded to vaguely resemble Scalpel's glasses and antennae.

I'll consider this, once we see the final coloring on the mold (in actual plastic). It's always nice to have some Decepticon medics.

EDIT: Ah, beaten to the explanation... :)

I dig the new head chest and weapons. They really do envoke Scapel from ROTF. I may get this along with the original Perceptor figure.

I'm still trying to decide whether to get one of the versions of this mold; I've been warded off this far by the reportedly fragile scope connectors. I wonder if this remold will have beefier connectors. Looking at the BBTS images, it actually seems like there are more tiny connectors, since now he's got those chest pincers, too.

This is the one I was most interested in from the beginning, and I am not disappointed. I might get it.

I kinda like it. Scalpel was one of the few parts of ROTF I actually liked.

If I get this, I'm slapping an Autobot sticker on it and calling him Pharma. (Yes, he turns into a jet in MTMTE, but the creepy medic look is just perfect.)

I think I dig this. I won't go overboard, tripping over impetuous hyperbole, but I will say it's a pretty neat redo.

Maybe if it had been turned into Pharma or an Evil Scientist with one eye. It might have been more appealing. But with most third party knock off stuff... It's a pass.
