Very cool...a possibility.

 

The faces look a little bloated. Even child-like. I'll nee closer pictures. I do like the idea of the feet.

Apparently, 2014 will be year of platform risers for existing figures.

 

LOL, REALLY LOL. Sorry for the caps, but they are copying FT's idea and applying it to Hegemon while releasing an add-on kit for MP Grimlock. I can just see a bunch of third party companies selling adjustable foot pads to make various figures as tall as people want those figures to be.

 

Huh, that actually looks good! The heads are strange but the feet are awesome looking! It's not too weird looking like Fans Toys Grimlock Set.

divinecomedy, I think they aren't really copying Fans Toys idea. Their products were probably designed at the same time and Fans Toys probably got to show their upgrade first.

 

Not to mention these are entirely new feet, where the grimlock ones are added to his existing feet.

 

Can Hegemon actually transform with the new platform feet?

 

Like the feet, dislike the heads.

 

The new feet are a good idea and look great. The new heads however, don't feel like a step up from the original's. I would of personally liked to have seen a chained morning star weapon.

 

I think the face needs to be a little longer. Seems a little too short/small. Megatron seems to be the hardest face of all the G1 Transformers to get right. I still haven't seen a really "great" one. The original Hegemon one was pretty good though.

 

Man that fixes everyone 1 centimeter problem between hegemon and Orion. There ya go.

 

And they'll sell every one they make, for all the "animation head-height-chart is my bible" collectors.

 

To bad Slag is the flamethrower Dinobot, not Grimlock.

 

Might be possible the flame add-ons can work with FT's Slag, too. While I doubt they were specifically designed for it (unless this company knew about Slag long before us, or managed to turn around color prototypes in seemingly record time), if they worked under the assumption that future MP or 3rd party MP-scale Dinobots might feature similar proportions to MP Grim... so maybe the fire-punches & fire-breath can work with FT's offering, too (maybe even the sword, tho that seems the unlikeliest due to the blade shape)

 

Not digging the heads at all, not a huge fan of the feet either. What he needs is better hands.

 

I don't remember the specifics, but someone mentioned Gundam hands can work great for Hegemon... check back a few pages in 3rd Party Discussion for the "Hegemon Appreciation Thread", I think it was. You can order the hands as a pair from various hobby sites that sell Gundam stuff, I believe.

I like the heads so far--might look better in the final version.

 

Nice job, getting it. They should make a height add on for Maketoys Giant as well.

 

i don't see the point. feet look weird and the heads look like my grandpa cosplaying as megatron. Hegemon is fine as-is.

 

I asked a few Shapeways guys to make these feetrisers but they all said too much work. This will also make him level with iGear Faith Leader.

 

If someone wants to modify this guy, how about some hip flaps that aren't a floppy mess that pop off ever time I try to transform it?
