:)  I will happily support this. Such creativity in the designs, engineering and playability!

There's a slight flavour of Microman to these too I think.

Backed at the basic get both.

Were I to do the suggestion level, it'd be the Lance to form a core of a Narwhal.

Eager to see what will come!

O.K. People. We are a couple of days in on the project and we are at $5,063 with 94 backers. That's 1/4th of our goal!

This is a relatively inexpensive 3rd party project that anyone can benefit from. We have a lot of 3rd party figures, but very few "accessories". If your tired of a figure in your collection, spice em' up with one of these sets. Give em' a new lease on life with some new fire-arms!

Come on everybody. Spread the word on this project. Lets come together and make this happen!

For those of you all who have already made your pledge, thank you.

Working on lists of 2-3 color palette robots, starting with a red/yellow/orange bunch. So far I've got Junkions, Predacons (g1), Blaster, and Rodimus. Other suggestions?

Light and darker blue (optional white) - Kup, Blurr
Green and yellow - Springer, Waspinator

Gray, brown, and some kind of dirty green (olive?) could work for toys made out of sewer refuse for the TMNT crowd...

You get the idea though. Trying to come up with color bundles that would work for various groups of figures.

If I can make a suggestion about the color poll, if it's not too hard to do the poll, I'd suggest doing the poll 3 times.

You see if you just do one poll, no one color will probably get better than 20-25% of the support.

The first time poll for the 5 colors, and then whichever one gets the least number of votes is eliminated. Then a couple weeks later let people vote again and elminitate another color. After three votes you should be narrowed down to the color that's the most generally accepted.

What very logical, and good, decision. :thumb

I think this would be a very accurate way to determine over all majority desire for specific set of colors for the BMOG sets.

Well Scaleface, you have my support on this. What say you, TFW?

    Thanks.

This runnoff method of voting I actually learned from the Presidential convention for the Libertarian party. They take all the guys trying for the presidential nomination, and let the people vote, then they eliminate the least popular, then revote, eliminate the next, etc. Instead of the most popular guy winning first vote, you end up with the least disliked guy winning the last vote, if that makes sense. I'd like to see the least disliked color be produced!

Once you do this sort of poll, you could probably use the results to pick the Kickstarter color, it would also let you know which color is the second most popular, for the first retail recolor down the road. I have full hopes that in the fullness of time ALL the colors will get made.

Given the shared genesis of Transformers and Microman, it's not surprising.

And pledged here at the $90 level. This feeds my love of accessories, arms micron styled mini bots and customizable building sets! Definitely need two of each color.

While it might get too close to Hasbro IP, I would love to see a black remold of the bear to look more cat-like, red and blue humanoid robots, red and gold bird types, and, oh, maybe a bat. :)

My other suggestions off the top of my head:

make room on the website for user-submitted gestalts with instructions. There has been some of that for Arms Microns, but it's not always clear what went into each creation and how they are assembled.

Think of super weapon gestalts, in addition to robot gestalts. Maybe not as a base set, but as cool things to do with multiple kits. I really like how the Target abominus cyberverse set comes with enough 3mm weapons to make a giant axe.

If the stickers have to be dropped, post a PDF online, and allow for people to print at home. It won't necessarily be the same quality, but it keeps the option open for those who want them. I personally did not apply the stickers on my arms microns, as I would rather paint them.

I really like this concept. I'll admit I was skeptical on first read, but seeing the first prototypes convinced me that this concept could be done well. I'm eager to see this come to fruition.

Great interview. I'm still not sure on one thing though Trent. It seems like you guys were saying each recolor will have it's own name, being a different character. So are Mantax and Ursenal the names of the Kickstarter toys, and the black first run will be given new names... will the kickstarter pair have new names and the production run be Mantax and Ursenal, or will both the Kickstarter and first production run be named Maxtax and Ursenal, and LATER runs have different names?

While I can forsee many bear/gun puns, what the heck else do you call Mantax?... Slash-Ray? Cudgel-Fish?

So the Kickstarter characters are NOT called Mantax and Ursenal? Those are the names of the black 1st run characters?

So what do we actually know about the CHARACTERS of Ursenal and Mantax? I've compiled the following for each based on the information from the interviews, and the kickstarter video...

Hey Trent, apologies if this has already been asked but what will the packaging for these guys be like? Bubble/blister card or will they come in a baggie? Either way I'm opening them of course but I think it would totally add to the 80's feel if you had some old school cardbacks with original art and logos "collect them all" catalog on the back, etc. maybe as a stretch goal?

Packaging, at this stage, is minimal, likely akin to what you get with Weaponeers of Monkaa (sealed baggie), with a sticker sheet and possibly instructions sheet. This is part of our 'keep the final sale cost down' push. Depending on how things go we may wind up with a minimal, Arms Micron style peg-hang for ease of convention sale.

We are, however, exploring other options, like printable PDF cardbacks and the like you can download from the website for display purposes.

Printable PDFs is a great way to save money for bio cards at first. Heck, maybe allow someone else to print them and sell them if they think they can make money.

PDF cardbacks sound like a good middle ground, looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

I'm voting arctic white for the Kickstarter exclusive color, along with the black retail color, I'll be able to make a killer Panda bear (a black/white Manta Ray would be zoologically appropriate as well)

Now once this company is going, make sure to contact Auto Assembly and TFcon for a shared convention exclusive. If one ordered one color, and the other ordered another color, they could potentially swap parts to make two dual-colored toys.

Plus I have the perfect Auto Assembly names for them: Robot Manta-X and Jump Bear Z!

TFcon on the other hand could have Prototype-Ax and Shaft-Bear?
