I just like larger bots in general. I collect CHUG, MP, and 3P pretty much equally, and will get the characters I want regardless of scale, but if it was up to me, they'd all be MP scale, because to me, when it comes to Transformers, bigger is better.

    I don't need a huge Sixshot. I just need a bad*%# Sixshot.

So his size has a bit of wiggle room. I would be looking to upgrade from anything SMALLER than Hexatron, but I probably won't be upgrading IF anyone actually made a bigger one.

and... He is the size of MP-10 Prime, and to me Prime IS THE "boss" type character. :)

See, I like Prime being smaller and more of an underdog. However, I don't have a Prime in my 3P world. Seraph will fill that role.

Yup, unless it's any uncanny onscreen G1 likeness, I don't want my 3rd party stuff to scale with my Masterpiece toys.

Not to mention that would get ridiculously expensive at Third Party prices.

so in case you haven't put your finger on it, you have 3 different collections where I believe many of those who take the opposite opinion on the issue have 1. I love transformers, but I also have a large gi joe collection and I just don't need 3x the transformers... so like I said, one G1 and one modern era for me.

the aesthetic differences usually don't bother me too much. There may be a time when I just say "hell no." but I usually work around them with the way I display and not try to force the issue.

even G1 had very different aesthetic styles all in the same line.

Yeah I kinda have a pet peeve for the constant "IT NEEDS TO BE BIG" "THIS IS TOO SMALL" "MP SCALE ONLY!" nonsense. If it's not specifically designed and engineered to look and scale well with mps then it doesn't need to be mp scale. period

The worst part is some collectors now even have this high and mighty arrogance to the opinion of mp-scale only as well, as if anything not in that scale isn't worth their time when 90% of the best 3p figures are not mp scale and wouldn't be improved by upsizing.

Same Here, with exceptions for stuff like Quakewave where it's meant to fit the part. Plus, I like that MP is a very cohesive display.

In my mind, I only have two collections. CHUG+3P, and Masterpiece. Most 3P is, as Jehsee put it, meant to "fill gaps", mostly in classics collections. For me, classics has very loose guidelines as far as aesthetic, scale, etc. That's why it's fun, and why I mix stuff like Fansproject's signature look with Hasbro figures.

Since MP-10, MP has been all about evoking the 80s look, whether it be the toys, comics, or cartoon in a relative bot scale. They are essentially what we imagined we were playing with as kids lol.

No one is "wrong" for mixing classics and MP, and I don't tell anyone how to collect. I just personally hate the huge push for companies like MMC to switch to MP scale. To me it makes no sense.

Because even the deluxes are ridiculously overpriced to hell and back, at the least I want something big for my damn money. The problem isn't the companies it's fans being too picky as to what fits with what. You want to bitch, about how they havent made character x pay $80 for a scout, and keep it on your classics shelf? Be my guest, just quit bitching at me for wanting something worth the money. Big bots justify larger price tags, simple.

No one is bitching at you, I just feel that (from the responses so far) you are a vocal minority.

There is nothing wrong with wanting what you want. It is not your fault that you are wrong :lolol

Hey I'm just banging my drum the loudest, doesn't make me smart, haha :p  my feelings is because of the turn Mps took with mp10 not being 100% G1 faithful in its execution, and with him being my favorite mp and character I feel liberated in my shelf choices because of hs modern/updated look. I can understand if mp01 was the only choice people wanting to stick to the stringent mp/G1 look. He was big blocky and pretty cartoon accurate,oh and die cast, just like G1.

so is it "a huge push", or a "vocal minority"?

    I don't get it either...

The aesthetics don't even match up with what the Masterpiece line is trying to accomplish.

I like large transformers mainly. But MP is my only consistent line im interested in. With MP-10 as my base leader, I prefer everyone to scale with him. So for example I'd never get a 3p Megatron smaller than MP-10 nor would I ever get a 3p Galvatron bigger than MP-10. MP's and select 3p is what I collect

I don't get why people are just assuming any given new product is MP sized either. Using the new Blurr as an example - why expect it to be MP sized at all? It's not made by someone who has shown an MP. It's not in any way an updated animation model. And it doesn't even look like it's engendered to make use of the MP size. So why assume it's an MP?

I also don't get why people would want just any old toy to be an MP. You can't just upsize a deluxe and call it MP worthy.

Even if the MP-sized figures aren't G1 accurate?

Don't really understand that comment... I mean... the only toys that are 100% G1 faithful are actual G1 toys, right? "G1 faithful" is a pretty interpretive phrase, is it not?

I keep the MP on a different shelf. I definitely don't like mixing the different aesthetics

My collection is cut in two; mp and everything else. Mp is mp, i skiped on quake because hes just too big for where id put him, maybe if i find him later on ill fold but im ok with masterpiece done by hastak. 3p for the most part goes with my chug and thats how i like it and hope it stays that way; id just hate my collection to abruptly stop if everything is mp scale all of the sudden

Here is my take on it. MP is supposed to be the ultimate expression of what a character/design is. So everyone wants the best possible version of a given character/toy etc. The MP line itslef being larger scaled than most...this is more easily accomplished at that scale...because there are details, design elements, features etc. you can put into an MP-10 sized six hot (for instance) that you never could have done if it was a voayger sized figure. Some people also mix figures like Hex with MP too...so thats a second thing.

I think maybe instead of asking for a 3rd party figure to be MP-sized, maybe we should be asking for them to be of MP quality.
