Transformed mine. Collapsing the legs was difficult. Noticed a few places missing a tiny bit of paint. Not sure if it was like that or if it happened during transformation.

Overall, it's pretty solid. I guess I lucked out. Nothing I would call an issue, other than the minor paint thing. No worse than I've had on other 1st or 3rd party TFs.

Was considering getting this guy at one point, but after watching Optibotimus' review tonight, I'm glad I didn't after witnessing the many QC issues this guy has. Then again, I didn't have high hopes for Kronos in the first place.

As far as I know there is no second run with fixes. However, there seems to be a high chance there will be some QC issues. Of the QC issues there are fixes, and a board member even started a thread that was pretty detailed.

If fixing QC issues isn't your thing, then the figure isn't for you. I fixed all of mine except the tight toe issue. I don't plan on Transforming him until I do. A lot of people have voiced their displeasure over the QC problems, and I can't totally disagree with them. However, I would have to add that with the current problems the figure has, it should not be bought at full price. If you can nab one at a discount it's totally worth it. Not the best figure, but a pretty nice cartoon representation of Skyfire.

no offense but even all the replacement parts came from disassembled Kronos figs. nothing was ever fixed and nothing ever will be. folks just need to accept Kronos for what he is.

He's a first attempt that wasn't as well received as expected from a designer that overly hyped it to a degree that he wasn't able to back up his claims. and that's okay it was a learning process for a lot of folks. many lessons were learned.

it's the truth take it or leave it.

for those that were willing to do all the work to make their figs amazing, they are happy it seems and so it's a win win for all who made the effort to make Kronos the best he could be given what they were handed to work with. it's all about personal preference and if your willing to put in the time, energy and money to do all that said designer could not and that's have an amazing piece on a shelf you can be proud of. then so be it. :)

that's my summarization of the entire process. Now it seems the whole SKyfire/Jetfire war is pretty much dead as nobody seems to be coming out with anymore news about their respective versions.

    The Kronos Wars....Are over.

lol I'm guessing you've never handled the oversized KO Scouting Force. If you think they are the same plastic then I'm not sure what to say to you.

Quite a few pages back, there was talk that several of the online retailers were sent bags full of replacement parts that were created at a different factory using the correct plastics. While all Kronos are shipped out completed as they were, if you have an issue, the retailers have replacement parts to send to you barring any issues you have. While it's not the best solution, it works.

Totally agree. There are numerous ways to fix the major issues, either thru stores or shapeways, and a little model paint. If you put in a little grease work, you are left with one of the best adaptations of an animated design in the history of toys (up there with Bandai dragon ball figures)... Jet mode is just a sloppy mess no matter what, but 99% display in robot mode anyway.

I think ft hasn't said anything about Skyfire in a while coz they are concentrating on the more pressing "Dinobot wars" going on right now.

In all, buy kronos, if you can. It's a fairly safe bet, if you can do 30min work to fix up any little issue.

But it is not the truth, so you shouldn't say it is.

Too bad the pics in the previous page have disappeared due to too many people viewing them, or you would be able to see the metal pins in Kronos hands.

If what you say is the truth, then there is no way that would have happened.

Now, I am not saying that some retailers did not take apart Kronos and send replacement parts to people who needed them from the original run of plastic. That indeed could have happened.

But there was changes made. There were joints posted that you can clearly tell were made from a different plastic and so forth. And the example I gave.

So please don't say it's "the truth". It is not.

Yes, now this is the truth.

    Amen brother, amen.

People are just going to hate on this till the end of time. I think all we need to do is accept it.

For the people willing to look beyond the BS, they will enjoy the figure. For the rest, that's on them if wasting their breath is worth it.

Shit, even Optibotimus proudly displays his Kronos in his collection, and he lambasted the figure.

Jet mode on mine isn't a mess as some call it. In fact, the first time I transformed Kronos, the backpack was so secure, I had trouble getting it back off. Transformation wasn't difficult, everything went in place very well (except the shoulder tabs at first, takes some getting used to), and it's solid in both modes. The only issues I had were a broken right pinky finger (assembled improperly from the factory) and a gap in his left forearm, which were all replaced by both Brandon @ TCP, and ARAFAT himself. Both modes look extremely accurate to the cartoon, he scales well with my MP collection, and I'm happy I bought him.

Don't use me as a way of proving anything. The figure stands in my collection because it LOOKS good. It isn't a good figure IMO. And if anyone comes into my office and looks at it, i'm quick to point out that yeah it looks good, but it's a p.o.s.

yeah i got replacement parts and they fixed my figure.

The replacement ankles are made of different material and do not break, dont lie about them just being from different figures. Some parts yes but these no.

if you didn't get them and you have this problem then i dont know what to say, reach out to your retailer

okay not gonna bother quoting this but when i read oh the retailers took kronos's apart to send parts that was pretty accurate. and though some had no choice til the bags of parts arrived, the bags of parts were of the same quality.

but again, the bags of parts that were sent out were parts from Kronos figs that didn't sell or weren't assembled. you don't need to take my word for anything, the globs of flawed parts are proof enough. those that somehow got what they thought were improved parts was just lucky. but I assure ya. the parts weren't actually updated. ;)

it's a shame that people only take what's in this particular thread to be truth and fact.

Again, if you took what was and is a sub par product and spent all the effort, time and funds and turned it into a gem that's good on you and I commend it. but the vast majority don't have the gifts and skills to do such things. just sayin. and most don't dare bother questioning out of fear of being perma banned.

I'm not trashing on the toy, I stick to my guns. it was a first release that didn't go nearly as well as planned. tons of issues along the way. the creator did as best as he could within his means, knowledge and skill set. It just wasn't as well as it was hyped up to be. :)

I take things as I see them and believe things as I read them. Kronos was always a mixed bag. and always will be. love him, hate him. he was made. and that is all really. :)

    What?

This figure brings out the worst in people, other shit figures exist and people are completely ok with them and their issues.

This one is like the apocalypse for most people, all of the haters cannot stay away from making comments here or anywhere really.

Listen, I'm not here to argue just list facts about my experience.

    Again not a hater.

and because a person has varying opinions on something doesn't make them so.

I think people are being far too sensitive. and being way too quick to be on the attack. nothing I said was insulting or against rules. I was very clean, clear and concise in my replies. I thought we were all reasonable and logical adults here. :)
