August 30th 2017 UPDATE

The good news is that Test-shot one is in hand and looks great, some of the more eagle-eyed among you may have spotted the test-shots on display at TFnation earlier this month. The feedback we had from fans was fantastic and people seem very excited and positive about the release, as we are. The few people who we allowed to hold it also seemed super excited.

The bad news is that Kickstarter isn't allowing me to add photos to this update and I've been trying for a few hours now, so I'm just going to link to a gallery on TFW2005 and hope you can all see the pictures there. I'll try another update with pictures tomorrow.




I'm pleased to say that Cassy and Spencer were also very happy with the test-shot, and despite us forgetting to bring hot-glue to pose the figurines, they managed to stay standing for the whole weekend with only a few bits of blu-tack on a few joints on the arms. Very impressive for a first test-shot, and those legs are SOLID.

So what's next? We're waiting for the TS2 to get in-hand, this should include tightened up joints on the shoulders and arms, extra ratchet joints for increased stability and a few design changes here and there for extra pegging and security in alt. mode. We're also plugging away with the comic and trying to find the right home for that, we hope to show you some soon.

We've excited the long empty highway and turned onto the final dusty dirt-track road of release for these bad boys, and it's a road littered with announcements, photos and updates throughout the month of September, including a website update giving people the chance to grab one of the 9 unclaimed "850" level backer rewards, and a list of the retailers who backed the KS and will be stocking their exclusive character versions of these toys with the "Unrustable Bastard" branding a clear month before the regular "Unrustables" main release.

All of the information for the bastards has been up and live on our website below since before the campaign went live, we've shared this link on FB several times as well as on the Kickstarter. There is a limit to how much information you can write on a KS campaign before people stop reading, so we made the external link optional for a more detailed break down of everything. Lets try and break it down here.
The Characters – Mayhem Mekanics

UNRUSTABLE BASTARDS - Yellow and black bike. Every purchase of the Unrustable Bastards comes with enough heads to make two characters - Iride and Burley. This totals out to 4 large heads (Iride Battle Mask, Iride Face, Burley Battle Mask, Burley Face and 2 small heads - as featured prominently on the Kickstarter page. This is the standard retail breakdown, if you back a Bastard at $100 or more, every figure comes with these heads. C-clip Weapons include rocket launcher, 2 x shotgun, chainsaw, as well as hand guns for large combined robot and riders.

UNRUSTABLE BASTARDS EXCLUSIVE CHARACTERS - Axel, Cholla, Hollister, Hazer and Hopper are 5 exclusive characters limited to a production of just 200 each. While they come with the same weapon packs, each character comes with two new head options for the combined robot (battle mask and face heads) and a new rider head. Available as retailer exclusives in limited quantities.

PROSPECT ADD-ON - A blank, unpainted character. Available in white or black, comes with the small heads from Iride and Burley. This is a base figure for you to customise and make your own gang member, the best of which get patched in to the official story canon of The Unrustables storyline.

SPECTOR ROGUES - White bike with silver and grey detailing. Every single Spector Rogue comes with two combined mode heads to make Spector General and Spector Trooper, as well as two small heads for the riders. Comes with a new weapon pack including the Circular Saw weapon.

OTOMO - Unlocked yesterday. Red bike with optional decals. Heads to be finalised, includes large head for combined mode and small head for robot, as well as a new to this set gun and sword.

ATAXIA - Locked. If we unlock this figure at $100k, the designer will be making two new riders, each with new heads for the Rider and for combined mode, and new weapon exhausts.

But then again, maybe if the Demolition Crue is MI's Wreckers line, Mayhem Mechanics could be their line for the Mayhem Attack Squad.

I was almost gonna be all 'urgh another hidden reveal from yet another new company' but then I saw who the OP was, so now i'm excited to see the possibilities.

 

So, would this be part of Mech Ideas or MMC? Or is Mayhem Mekanics another offshoot group?

Oh man, if this is Wreckers project I would be all over it. How long have we been waiting for a decent Roadbuster?

 

For some reason I just assumed it was a new project from Mech Ideas. Dammit Ceno, how many groups do you work for?!
