Finally tried head mode today and I actually love it! All the pics online made it look goofy but personally I think it looks fantastic in hand. The fact that I can put all the pieces on the original fort max makes this even higher on my list of favorite third party figures. It took a bit to get it all situated correctly so it fit on fort max (i'm looking at you bot mode feet) but this mode is highly underrated.

Amazing figure... haven't got to play with him too much yet... but wow, very impressive in-hand... the dude just oozes "quality".

It really does look better in person. I love the head mode.

Love the stand... works like shit (needs a height adjuster) and he stands just fine, so I don't plug him in... but he sure looks great standing on it solo on my desk. Dude just looks amazing all by himself... not sure I want to put him with the rest of my collection. Eventually... I'm sure I will though. Maybe.

I'll have him tomorrow. Can't wait to see what other people have been raving about.

Dude... this sucks... I just got FP's Revolver today, which I was VERY excited about... but got Warden a few days ago too... the dude (Warden) just makes everything I own look like chopped liver. I almost feel like one of the chicks I've slept with... essentially ruining all other future men for her.

Though I never owned one... the quality reminds me of what I imagined Fewture's Getter figures to be like... that actually makes no sense since I have no experience with them... but they're like $500+ figures that I could never afford, but looked amazing and this is really close to what I expected them to be like... minus the ability to transform. I dunno... the dude's really unlike any 3P figure created thus far. Haven't even transformed the thing yet... this is pitiful. *swoon* If I had the money... I'd order a few more, just for investment's sake.

I can relate. While I still like my Mania King and Diesel, some of the excitement is not there simply because they do not quite measure up to Warden. Cubex Huff would have been a fav fig of mine, but the quality is so far below Warden that he feels like a cheap KO. That's not at all accurate for the toy as it's really good quality, especially as far as 3rd party goes. It's just that the bar has been raised so high.

In fairness, Warden makes a lot of Hasbro's latest offerings feel cheap too.

I completely agree with this and have felt that way since I've gotten Warden. It makes you look at everything else like :-| .

And, while it's not on par with Fewture models toys (I collect them), I can tell you that what Warden makes other 3rd party figures look like is what they make other diecast (gokin) toys look and feel like... so in a way, they're similar because of the effect they have on other stuff.

Is he worth it if you don't have G1 Fort Max and don't care about the big head gimmick?

Major yeses to both. However, having him invokes the desire for a 3rd party Fort Max giant for Warden's head-mode to go with.

Yes. You can put the head up on top of the treads for a head-tank mode. Well worth it in my opinion.

i never thought i'd see the day you'd call your beloved fp figures chopped liver. haha. Warden does have that effect. as far as productin value and attention to detail he surpasses just about any TF figure to date...even the masterpieces and FT's QW. Is he a better overall figure than all those figures? IMO, no. does he feel like he has better finish, and fit and superior quality compared to other figures....yeah. i do wish he was more like 11" tall or so instead of his current size but i'll take a superior figure like warden into my collection anyday and find a place for him. i actually built up my headmaster ranks partially because i needed somebody to put warden with. i mean if you look real close you can tell he is head and shoulders above the other figures but how often am i witin 2 feet of my display cabinets. lol.

Yes. The head mode is fun bit he's wasted sitting on top of Fort Max, robot mode is where he shines.
