Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the only thing an Elita-1 figure need is a new head? Seems like they'd be better off including that with Arcee instead of a separate release... 2 different pink fembot figures...?

 

But the Elita fembot is supposedly coming with an entirely new mold. So you would be getting an entirely different pink fembot and seeing how it's MMC, i would presumed that they'll look nothing alike. Totally unique.

The Elita teaser shows the same basic robot form, just with a new front cowling for the vehicle mode.

 

I am sure it will come with a new head, which is something we care for most i think. I have to say i am very exited about these fembots, specially the teal medic one, it looks absolutely fantastic. Hope it wont take long after the arcee release.

 

Heh, yeah. Thought the new head and weapon were a given.

 

Not really even in the g1 cartoon she had a number of different design elements, the animators were just lazy when it came to colors and designing fembots in general. She should be more unique and is deserving of having a retool that isn't just a new head. Thankfully MMC realized this and her and Solus have different back panels/thigh panels to make them look different.

 

Different shades of pink! Shockwave and Cyclonus and Galvatron are all purple, but you wouldn't want to use the same exact plastic for each. Likewise for Arcee and Elita.

 

The definite impression I've gotten is that all of the fembots share the same basic mould and transformation, but the vehicle-mode kibble and weaponry differentiates them, sort of how like Perfect Effect's RC and Aranea. There might be some remoulding on certain parts, like Aranea's chestpiece/kneepads/footguards, but on the whole it's a mould-share to save on extra costs.

 

Elita 1 is more of a Fuschia usually (sort of Animated Arcee colour) and Arcee is actually mainly white with a little pink usually. they can also take accents from the Energon one with has some black on it I suppose - Unfortunately the latest Comic Arcee is quite a similar colour to the G1 Elita-1 so I hope they balance Arcee towards white.

Oh and I'd not say no to a blue one sometime too to give homage to Prime Arcee or Chromia.

And there's a potential perhaps for some sort of white/red Minerva homage too - not so much the G1 original as the Galaxy Force DVD toy one.

 

Wow, this looks great. Any word on when pre-orders are going up? Can't be far off...

 

I think the Paladron Medic design would have benefited from a kibble panel added to her legs - so that the back of her vehicle mode is bulked out there.

It's a spot most of the others don't have any attachments so it would have made her look more different to Arcee then.

Ironically I've often thought Elita-1 was a Motorcycle so perhaps Perfect Effect's fembot template was better suited to a version of that Character as it would also be to Wreck-Gar's misses. (Ladywreck?) That said I don't think a Junkion Fem is impossible with this mould.

 

Crazy idea:

Make a version of this figure in Strika colors. But then also release an upgrade body along with it that the smaller fembot can store inside. The upgrade could turn in to some kinda nice looking Cybertron tank.

 

The figures aren't due out 'till next year - I doubt we'll see any preorders until feral rex is pretty much done at the end of this year.

hmm, a not Solus Prime, for $50.00, I'll have to keep a look out for the preorder.
