Okay, so say someone was asking YOU what you want to see in a third party Blaster/Twincast/SG Blaster toy (assume it will get repainted in all three decos at least).

What would you want to see for Blaster's...

Size class: (Legends, Deluxe, Voyager, Masterpiece, etc)
Accessories: (assume cassettes are seperate, but could have other accessories)
Alt mode(s): (tape deck, tank, jet, giant dun beetle, whatever...)
Gimmicks: (real FM tuner? LED lights, Automorph, Pretender shell, whatever)
Suggest a not-Blaster name: (assume Blaster, Twincast, or any Takara/Hasbro name is not available)

Voyager size. His alt mode should be a vehicle, maybe a cool looking truck of some kind with a similar gimmick to classics Jazz: ie two of his accessories would be deployable speakers as a nod to his g1 casette player roots. I think being an actual music player, either 80s style or modern would be stupid and completely disinterest me.

His "tapes", steeljaw, ramhorn etc should all just be weapons that turn in to their respective g1 bot modes, I'd still prefer the ones that become creatures remain as such but I'd much prefer they have useful alt modes. Maybe they could become like shields or melee weapons, that'd be cool too.

Above all else though Blaster should have exactly what his namesake always required in my mind: a large sonic weapon of some kind so it would need to be cannon-esc and not look like your every day sci-fi gun, maybe his little guys could combine to form a big gun? that'd be awesome.

    Masterpiece size

    alt mode- tape deck
tapes- steeljaw, ramhorn, rewind (to start)
gimmick- working speakers in the legs that an mp3 player can be plugged into

Pretty much what FansToys has been working on, to be the polar opposite of MP-13 Soundwave. MP-size, G1 tape compatible, G1 style rifle. MP3 playing capability and speakers in his legs would be icing but not absolutely necessary to me.

See, I dont' see a Masterpiece Blaster that looked like the opposite number of Soundwave from a 3P because Takara will probably make that next year anyways. That would be a waste of 3P energy.

    I'd want a Classic Blaster from 3P.

    My personal preferences...

    Voyager sized
tank or truck alt mode, but with a communications third mode (like FOC Blaster)
    Holds 2 cassettes
Head flips down so you can mount the Junkion Blacksmith Blaster head on it as an option.
    Weapons fold into cassettes.
Has clips on the arms or legs that can hold additional cassettes outside the vehicle.

MP13 Size, G1 style, same basic aesthetic as MP13.
No working speakers, MP3, or even lights for me.
Rewind and Eject as his first tapes since Steeljaw and Ramhorn are already covered by KFC.

I guess I just don't see Takara making an actual MP Blaster.

This is about all that would interest me... Classics, Voyager, Non-cassette-player alt-mode...prefer some sort of cybertronian vehicle. Bonus if Rewind/Reject can sit in the driver's seat... double bonus if one can also sit passenger.

Absolutely zero interest in a 3P Masterpiece Blaster...

Heck, I'd honestly be happy with FoC Blaster, but with a chest that holds cassettes instead of disks. Someone make a replacement torso for that toy!

He should transform into a radio or TV outside broadcast truck, something with a big sattalite dish on the roof, Voyager sized with room in the back to store Eject and Rewind who turn into big speakers, Sundor turns into the sattalite dish. Not too sure about Ramhorn and Steeljaw, I suppose they could also be speakers if needs be.

this with slightly more articulation and detail, round(er) thighs, and a different head. he should be MP scale (not sure how he could be any other size to be G1 tape compatible), and slightly taller or thinner than what is shown below, to make him a little more proportionate.

I would like it to be almost opposite of soundwave definitely with cassettes cuz I didn't care much for the data discs. Any gimmick outside of being normal would be fine with me. Lights, or maybe some kind of recognition where he will say different things when a certain tape is in the deck. I don't know really, would just like to own a good blaster figure. :)

I'm mainly focused on working on my Classics collection, so I'd probably have the following specs for my ideal Blaster.

    Size: Voyager Class

Accessories: Something along the lines of his Electro-scrambler gun. ArtTek's Sonic Rifle pretty much hits the spot.

Alt mode: If we were getting a Masterpiece-styled figure, I'd definitely want him to turn into a boombox, but in terms of the Classics-styled figures, I'd prefer that he had some sort of Earth-based vehicle for his alt mode. Maybe something boxy like a Scion xB. Bonus points if he was a triple changer that could turn into some sort of sound/stereo system.

Gimmick(s): I'm not really into gimmicks, but having a chest piece that opens up to store his allies seems like a must. And again, triple changing would be nice.

A-ha, got it, if Broad-Blast (that's his name, deal with it) is a TV OB truck, deco'd as being for some sort of MTV type music channel, then Sunblock will be the roof mounted sattelite dish, Iron Fang and Cudgel form the big speakers, and Pop-Up and Recap both turn into TV cameras, all of which can store in the back of the truck, which forms Broad-Blast's chest in robbit mode, or can combine into a big ass sonic cannon!

EDIT; and this is the van he should be:

Except maybe a little bit shorter.

Meh, I already have a Blaster.

I'm perfectly happy with my Voyager FoC Blaster.

Plus, I love the head mold on it.

    Sive: Voyager

Alt Mode: Truck filled with speakers!

Gimmick: His old cassets now act as small triple-changers, going from quick little scout vehicles, to their normal forms, to speakers that can mount on Blaster in either form or surround a group of enemies to create an ampitheater with no escape.

After the amazing quality of QuakeWave, I'd be all over the Fans Toys Blaster if they put it into production.

There already exist two options for a Voyager-ish Blaster that could fit well with Classics: Device Label Broadblast and FoC Blaster. Another Voyager Blaster seems like a waste to me when an MP Blaster to stand opposite to MP-13 Soundwave screams to be made.

As for Takara-Tomy taking on the character in the MP line, I'm not so certain it'd be that soon. Mr. Hasui seems more determined to get the original Ark crew (and any redecos of characters that would make sense from the molds) knocked out, not to mention the heavy hitters for Season 3 hinted at too.

Exactly, this. A few stylistic touches to the proportions, improved articulation, and a sleeker face sculpt and I'm down like Alton Brown.

I don't see either of those as options.

Device Label is a tiny laptop, a horrible alt mode, and not really Voyager sized is it?

FoC Blaster holds useless disks. That puts it out of the running right away.

That's why I'd love to see something 3P. I've heard several 3P companies looking into a Blaster to go with all the 3P cassettes we have seen lately. There seem to be demand.

Still, there seems to be 2 camps out there. Probably room for both guys out there on collector shelves:

    1. Voyager sized Blaster truck or tank.
    2. Masterpiece sized Blaster boom box.
