So, the three major 3PC not-Predaking contenders have shown their not-Razor Claw, and they are quite different from one another: MMC’s Feral Rex's core looks quite robust. TFC Toys’ Ares' core looks pretty athletic. UT’s Warlord's core looks, well, pretty lean in comparison to the other two.

In case you somehow missed the pictures circulating, comparing the torsos, here they are again for you to look at:

    TFC Toys' Nemean:

    UT's War Leo:

At present, it looks like the only edited comparison pictures online are the first two pictures posted above, but if someone would like do one for us all to see side-by-side, please post them, and I’ll update the first post;)

Rather than doing another Which 3PC Predaking are you purchasing thread (maybe after TFC Toys reveals more?), how about a poll showing how we feel about the pieces shown?

TFC Toys’ Nemean is causing waves. Just his reveal alone has people that were in favor of MMC’s Feral Rex just a few days ago, already moving over to TFC Toys’ camp:eek:

Now that you’ve seen MMC’s Leo Dux, TFC Toys’ Nemean and UT’s War Leo, how do you feel about the big three’s take on Predaking thus far? Are you still locked on one, two or all three? Have you changed your mind from one to another? Are you teetering this way or that? Have you seen enough to even think about deciding yet—if you want to save a good chunk of change, you may need to decide within the next 10 days or so, as rumor has it, pre-orders will be going up soon!

    was originally going MMC purely.

Then had spare money so was gonna gun for MMC and UT.

Now that TFC has revealed, I will be going MMC and TFC. MMC will be brought no matter what. Its just which "second" I am getting.

The more I see it, the more I am convinced MMC's version is better with the exception of the shoulder cannons. TFC's looks more robust, something I now realize I wish MMC's version had.

Still favoring Leo Dux. TFC's combiner mode head is too small, and I don't like the way the arms are on the side of the torso. Also think TFC's lion mode looks really weird from the sides. Thin chest and MASSIVE limbs. Nice cannons though.

That said, I do like that TFC is going for something more unique and less a re-ashing of the Predacons. And if the silhouettes we've seen are any indication, their team members will have a unique look to them, so I might pick up both MMC and TFC.

UT's just looks cheap compared to the rest. Still their best figure of the set, but no match for either TFC or MMC.

I'm still a huge fan of what MMC has brought to the table, but TFC is really nice looking as well. UT looks to be in the minor leagues compared to the other two.

1.a. MMC - The details just pop for me and what I want for Razorclaw.
1.b. TFC - makes the core of Predaking look nice and beefy, like it should.
    3. UT - Looks like a solid number 3 choice.

I'm not a MMC fan (never cared for HOS and I don't like Hexatron that much), but I'm sticking to their Predaking. I love their Razorclaw, his torso mode is the only one able to conceal the bot arms as part of the gestalt's chest, the lion mode is very dynamic, but the bot mode is the real winner. I'd buy their Razorclaw even if it were just a stand-alone figure.

Not really into the Predacons so I'm not getting any of them, but TFC's looks he most promising so far, which is a complete surprise since I hate on the so much.

Seali's post pretty much sums up what I think about MMC's take on their Reformatted line's attempt at fitting in with Classics figures:

I'm not getting any of them, due to personal financial constraints, but if I were, I'd be leaning towards TFC somewhat begrudgingly because I know MMC's will be killer to mess about with.

MMC doesn't have Rob Liefeld. Coz you can see the figures' feet.

    Not just the feet...

The overall sharp/edgy and wonky proportions too.

Yeah. MMC shouldn't have hired him. :lol

    I'm in the MMC camp.

To me the MMC version looks most on point with the character, though if I could give it the TFC cannons I would. Since its very likely always going to be in combined mode in my collection that is the mode that I'm most concerned with. I like the bigger body that MMC and TFC have over the UT version, but I think MMC has the better sized head. I love the fact that the mane expands for Predaking, and that the lion front paws are still visible, I like seeing pieces of what the robot transforms to being visible without becoming kibble. I also believe that MMC's Razorclaw has thicker thighs which will help around the combining joint by making it look less like the combiners legs are blowing out at the knee.

TFC while it does have some good points to me if someone told me it was a Zoid lion figure I would likely believe them. It just has that look to me, which isn't bad just not what I'm after. I can also see it looking a bit like a Voltron Lion, but none of those have manes. I also have issues with their QC and business practices and likely will be very hesitant to purchase a TFC product that that isn't what this topic is about.

The best part of the TFC version to me is the guns. I think the head might be to small for the combined figure. It also looks like it could be potentially to lanky for me which is a major issue I have with the UT version. Just to slender with not enough bulk.

The UT version is a nice effort for a first time group, but when compared to the other two it is the one that I would say was produced by a third party, with the other two being a high end HasTak figure. It just lacks the detail that the other two have, and looks like a less bulky G1 version with articulation.

I hope that they sell enough to produce a second figure, or even just to complete their Predaking, but I think they would have been far better served if they went with smaller offerings to get their feet in the door and to refine their skills.

I prefer MMC as a figure, bu TFC has a better torso.

I'm still leaning MMC for the buy - unless TFC continues to impress with their other reveals

After seeing this side by side comparison of all three of them i have to say my fav is TFC. I dont like UT's small simple version of him and MCC is a bit to busy for me and i never liked the shoulders for Razorclaw. I have the first two MCC bots on earlybird pre-order but i may drop them for TFC's. I cant wait for Hex but Feral Rex may get dropped, lets see what TFC brings.

I'm sticking with MMC ont his one.

There's things to like about TFC. It gets a lot right. But I like the hyper detailing in MMC's version. And, overall, I like what they're bringing to the table. And, with the early bird prices, they're probably going to be cheaper too.

It doesn't help that Tantrum and Headstrong's silhouettes lack the animal heads. People even thought they wouldn't be animal based! So jury's out on the rest of the team looking liek they're supposed to.

MMC is a lock. I want Feral Rex.

TFC... I don't KNOW. My gut says I will not like the combined mode as much as I do Rex, but there is a lot to enjoy about Nemean in Beast and Robot modes. Depending on size and price I MIGHT get the Ares set just to enjoy the individual figures while Rex towers over them like an angry storm darkening the peaks of Olympus.

UT's offerings, while a commendable and bold first attempt, never really had a chance of getting into my collection. Someday, if I have the cash and they are on clearance, maybe... but to actually plan for it and set money aside? Not I.

    :lol

Rob Liefeld can't draw hands for $#!+:lol  Have you seen TFC Toys' hands? They are clearly the work of a guy who draws circles and scribbles inside them and Nemean's face looks as busy as Cable's:p

I kid of course, Both TFC Toys and MMC have better artist coming up with concepts for their products, though the guy doing TFC Toys' hands needs to do more to those hands. A block with some details and a hole in the center should exist in toys this expensive.

BTW, if it isn't obvious already, I'm sticking with MMC. No TFC Toys or UT for me.

TFC Toys' Nemean looks better than I thought it would (kudos!), but it looks like a detailed rectangular block with smaller detailed rectangular blocked arms and legs and a pudgy lion head attached at one end:(  I think its shoulder cannons are way too big. I do like the look of its spine and tail in lion mode and its abdomen does look pretty nice, but the raised plates on the mane and hip, which will likely be painted gold...or yellow, makes the guy look a bit cheap. Maybe all it needs is some paint to fix that, but I wouldn't trust TFC Toys to do it right.

UT's Warlord never even had a chance. There's nothing about that guy that I like...well, I guess the LED in the feet are kind of cool:/

    EDIT:

The thing I dislike most about TFC Toys' Nemean is that it looks like TFC Toys' connectors are back to stay--I really don't like those things. At. All.
