Is Crankcase big in a comic or something? Otherwise, what an obscure character to make a $50+ figure out of.

He's a reoccurring funny character in both Marvel and IDW comics, and even appeared in Fun Pub comics. Plus he worked with the mold they designed for Ironfist. The mold is spot on perfect for IDW's Ironfist, but they can make it work for Crankcase.

He's cranky and complains a lot, and is basically a cross between a Decepticon verison of Gears and Shlep-rock from the Flintstones (or Kenny from South Park, if you are one of the younger crowd)

Mach 5 seems to be catering to James Roberts fans in a big way. Ironfist is from LSOTW and Crankcase is part of a group that will be getting a continuing side story in MTMTE. But yeah, he's a funny character, he's a cantankerous whiner who's prone to massive head trauma.

 

Maybe I'll cut off half the head.

Uh, wouldn't the Movieverse Crankcase only really need a new head?

 

The Wal-mart exclusive redeco of Cybertron Red Alert is a good Crankcase, it's been worthy of my classics shelf. But that was released five years ago, it would seem Mach 5 feels there's a market for it given his recent comic exposure. It's an inexpensive way for them to get some mileage out of the mold, so why not?

 

Poor representation, IMO. Autolauncher would've been better.

 

Well, with them reusing this mold so quick, if either of these are more than $40 a piece, it's a no-go. Mech Ideas can do it, so can these guys.
Still only interested in Ironfist.

Other than the head, the Cyb Red Alert redeco makes a great updated Crankcase, and from what I've seen of this repaint thus far, I'll be passing on this one.
