Think this version will be cheaper than FP?

It should be at around the same price point as Hardbone, if not cheaper. It might cost more as it will be much larger than what FP has.

For starters, all of the headmasters turn into BS future-land alt modes, so your scale argument falls over straight away! :D  But apart from that, anyone who tries to collect TF's where the alt modes are in scale with each other is going to go crazy pretty quickly. Best to ignore it altogether. The way the bot modes scale with each other is far more important IMHO, which is what I was referring to.

The Toyworld releases are generally $99 (a fair price given their size) while FP's are going for $69 (possibly a little overpriced for their size, but the company has a little more reputation behind them). If both companies end up releasing all 7 main original headmasters, the overall price difference will be $693 versus $483. That's going to be a consideration for a lot of us.

    Really?

Wasn't that your response?... Anyway, I've asked the mods to clarify. I'm getting this figure. Hopefully, it's not as costly as Hardbone.

I'm picking this guy up for sure. After Toyworlds version of hardhead it's hard to say no to. Iv had no problems with my version ( floppy joints , etc.) so as far as I'm concerned, toyworld an fansproject are both , at this point, equal to me.

Neither of them look that much like Brainstrom. Unless Brainstorm went from intellectual to roided up brawler.

But at least Toyworld's head is good.

Nah, that's weak. Brainstorm is about building the incredible and impractical. Why work out when you can make a device that magnetically charges your enemy so that they're pulled inot the nearest sun at mach speed? There's enough buff chumps running around. He looks too generic all beefy.

FP version strikes me as less "beefy".

So again why would Hardhead be bigger than Brainstorm? They have alyway been the same size. Considering they make one Headmaster a year I am willing to pay more for a good toy.

I have both Hardbone and Code... and I really like them both.

However, if the Brainstorm figures follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, I'm more likely to go for Toyworld's. While he could use a few more details (paint apps, or maybe a set of reprolabels), there is nothing about Hardbone I don't like.

Code, on the other hand, has ups and downs. He's super fun to transform, and I think he looks great in both modes, but I do kinda wish he was a little bigger. They could put balljoints on Sidearm, but they can't do any tiny balljoints for his headmaster? I wasn't too fond of that. While his headmaster can fit into G1 Headmaster bodies, the opposite is not true. Don't like that. Articulation? Well, he HAS it... I don't care about the ankle tilts - it's the hips and shoulders that bother me. Basically, what I like about Code, I REALLY like, but what I don't like about him... well, there's things I just don't like.

I don't see why we all have to get so butthurt over someone else not liking the one we prefer. Everyone's got their opinions. Oh well, such is fandom, where many need to express their opinion as fact. Oh. I guess I see now. ;)

Anyway, I'll wait to see some color pics, and definitely an alt mode for TW's Brainstorm before I make a decision (I can't afford to buy both - I wish I had Peaugh's toy funds! - because I'd love to)... but I'm leaning towards TW for now.

I think I'm going with Smart Robin just because distribution is likely to be better. ToyWorld pulled some real shenanigans with Aurora and Hardbone. I really don't feel like rewarding them for that just for a figure that's mildly better than a cheaper, more easily available figure.

Ehhh this guy has too much of a weird pseudo-animated aesthetic for me to really dig him. He's not super robot enough for me to dig, or detailed enough to make him interesting. Really seems like they didn't quite know what they wanted todo with him so I'll pass for now.

You have Hardbone, but can't figure that one out? Gah, I hate Hardbone's balljointed limbs. They get knocked all over the place trying to articulate his head. Although that might also be partially due to his pointless ratcheting neck...

I'm so glad I didn't preorder FansProject's Brainstorm. This one looks so much better.

Now I'm waiting to see how they'll handle Chromedome.

Me, I'm really hoping for him to be shoulder to shoulder with Hardbone. I LOVE that size for these guys^^
I also like how NotBrainstorm looks, the mix of angles and soft lines - it works for him, in my opinion - but that's just me.
Now, while I was planning on passing on SmartRobin, I *AM* planning to get 4U. Just a case of 'this fits what I like best in size and appearance'.
While I'm not one of those who goes around freaking out because not everything is 1:32 scale (or what have you^^) I do like some RELATIVE scale, either based on alt-modes or based on animation models. Brainstorm and Hardhead were both tall mechs, taller than the average. Chromedome wavered between their height and a bit shorter.
So I like the lines of the mold, I like the expected size of the mold. Yeah, gonna get this^^

If someone like SmartRobin better... That's cool, He's got a cool look goin' on and I can see where they're coming from.^^

I think I like Toyworld's take on these guys better than FP. Which is a shame since I have a Code in my stack at TFSource and the other two on preorder. TW's offerings do have the less detailed and more rounded cartoon look. Seeing as how that's where MP is going now, I like the TW guys for my MP collection. FP's guys would make better classics toys. Too bad I don't have a classics collection anymore.

Looks WAY better than Smart Robin. I've gone back and forth about canceling my preorder for it all day. I like the simplicity this has. Sure maybe a little 'puffy' looking but FP's looks over complicated for the sake of being over complicated. Plus this has the better head which will account for about 70% of my decision.
