I have figured out how to make Hench about an inch taller, but it's not just a simple mod unfortunately. Will post pics when he's done

That Bumblebee is garbage. Terrible head and fat belly. Cliffjumper is ok, not good enough to buy though. Of course my opinion could change when we see the actual toy. But those renders are awful.

 

That's expensive...yet we all get mad about hasbro prices lol

I really don't know how to take that. When I saw the render of this Bumblebee head, my first thought was "that must be a rough version, and they're planning on improving it for production"... but from what you're saying, I can't even give them that much credit.

So let's be clear... we may disagree over whether Bumblebee's proportions are wrong, or he's too fat, or whatever... but can we at least agree that THAT HEAD IS DAMN UGLY!

I mean, I would think by now that fans and 3rd parties know what a good Bumblebee face looks like, right?

Stinger' s head looks like crap. If we keep saying it, maybe they'll change it.

 

I've got my eyes set on that CJ.

 

At least the hands on these guys (and Duneraker, Cogz, etc.) are a step or two up from Hench's blocks.

 

The early prices were sort of Teaser prices -to get people onboard with the Miniwarrior line. Then they increased the size due to demand (to fit better with both CHUG and MP Lines) even tho frankly the engineering is too simple for it.

Then this new (about to release) wave with Cogz, Duneraker, Veer, and Outback(?) clearly shows higher demand for S1/S2 bots. So IGear sells them as doubles and the Retailers are willing to split the pairings but charge a premium for the more sought out figures (Cogz/Duneraker).

Its fairly simple, the Miniwarrior Line is the most G1 accurate production of of these characters in 30 years. Unless they get MP'd (who really knows if Takara will do so), I doubt we will see this characters ever more faithfully be produced. IF they are MP'd, they'll probably be $40 anyway, so IGear sees money to be made as there are NO ALTERNATIVES.

If you want G1 Minibots, here they are... take 'em or leave 'em.

With that said, I love these little buggers, but PLEASE IMPROVE STINGER'S HEAD.

 

does anyone know when their sharkticon is ever going to be released??? Also I am pretty upset knowing that their version of Pipes was the repaint of Huffer, and I know the original g1 toy was just a repaint but still its like they didn't even make an effort to change the look of the figure.

 

that head on stinger WILL stop me from buying both. have they said how large the stinger and rocky are? i was hoping they are smaller than bench. What were they thinking? its like the head on the gijcc iceberg its so bad...

actually im quite happy with my classics bee and cJ with a custom head.

but i have to say the head sculpts here are horrendous. and im still having a conflict on these, the amount of detailing on the sculpts is a bit lacking and makes them seem a little KO'ish

 

See, that bot mode is perfect! I'd be happiest with a bot mode like this, but with the chibi-style alt mode. I'd be in heaven!

 

That custom is WOW but I would say it is so slavishly G1 that it would be a perfect MP BB. Well the MP vrsion would have a little more detail to it but I can't imagine it looking that much more better than this custom.

I dunno, I still hold the whole, new engineering, new look thing to heart when it comes to classics. iGear is somewhere in between slavish G1 cartoon look and slavish G1 toy and a mix of both. At this point the whole MW line will be in my Classics display but I make concessions for slavish G1 figures because I am also just colelcting the MW line.
