Maketoys Omega Supreme upgrade?

100000X this. Get rid of the pin head and get a decent G1 styled head if your gonna make him a G1 styled Omega.

I don't hate it as much as you but I really don't like it. The head *sigh*.....the head is just plain ridiculous.

They used a silhouette of the wrong toy in his alt mode (look at the claw arm).

I think they're trying to indicate the set will work with ALL versions of Omega.

~Shrug~ It's probably subjective, and/or tied up in some of the awfulness that was in the Energon line. If your first impression of the figure is bad, that can forever poison it for you.

For the record, I LIKE Energon Omega, and I feel YOTS Omega fixes some of his issues. But he did have them... many weren't his fault, and were the result of some poorly thought out interactions with OTHER figures. These were some of Energon Omega's crimes:

1. His Color scheme was schizophrenic, and had nothing to do with Omega Supreme. At best, he had hints of Omega Spreem's colorscheme, but without the magenta, he's just not a real man.

2. His combination gimmick with Energon Optimus was... laughable, and mostly pointless. Basically he swapped his head for an Optimus head.

3. His alt modes are out of scale with each other. A crane-arm construction vehicle... and a space battleship. Made worse when you combine them.

4. He's kinda hollow, though he really doesn't seem to lose anything in durability or heft against Unicron, so meh.

5. The claw arm gimmick never really worked right, and was kind of pointless.

That being said, he did a lot of things right, in a line that really needed it. He was big, stable, poseable, fully of lovely ratchet joints, and had a headmaster gimmick that was cleverly engineered, worked well, and had multiple ways to use it in all modes. The headmaster even stored away when combined with Optimus, AND the robot body had a secondary head that could be made out of the 'collar'.

YOTS Omega gains some and loses some compared to Energon Omega. I'm sad to see the headmaster go, honestly, but the claw arm is a big improvement, and I love the color scheme. The rest will have to wait until he's in hand.

But, if he doesn't do it for you, that's totally valid. Thankfully, there are alternatives.

Eh its an improvement I'll give them full points for that but come on some one out there make a good G1 Omega for us, not WfC chicken legs or a very classy add on to an energon toy a proper one.

While I would have liked a cannon arm cover/attachment, to me the "wings" are more important, and I'm glad this set adds them.
