Maketoys needs to focus on the Fallen...get that thing out the door, and then moVe onto Computron. This Omega Supreme thing can wait.

 

Color me interested! A good old fashioned upgrade kit  

 

This is my reaction to this news.  

 

I kinda dig this but I don't feel its "necessary".... depending on price and colors, I might grab it. But I feel that that Omega looks pretty neat as-is. Tracks on back or not.

 

My curosity is peaked. My YotS Omega arrived last week, and I'm plenty please with him. The G1 esk claw and head certainly improve him in my opinion.

Maketoys have done some pretty cool stuff in the past, so I'll be paying attention to this project.

Reading this thread, its good to see though that I'm not the only person who would like a rocket top/ cannon arm for Omega. Maybe some enterprising 3rd party will give us one.

Wonder how much they're going to charge...If it's not $50 or less you're getting to the point where you'd probably just be better off dropping the extra for the other one.

Makes me glad I decided to skip YotS OS. This would have made a big dent in my bank account.

 

Interesting bit of news, and a degree of 'base mode' functionality would be a nice addition but again - and as already been pointed out - no attempt to provide for a cannon arm? That seems like a bit of an obvious miss, given that it was a very strong visual element of the G1 character.

 

Considering the designation MCB-001... I'd not be surprised if they were working on adding a second set of parts to him eventually... or if they added stuff for other City Bots.

 

Excited to see a fuller reveal. Then I'll make a decision.

I'm also intrigue to see where this line goes.

 

The only thing I want to hear from Maketoys is "Computron".

I don't think war for cybertron Omega supreme had the wings. So its kind of more for people who want to use it as a classics style toy.

Looks like it could have a micro figure with it, just to make the scale look stupidly epic.
Kind of unnecessary on a toy as big as this.

It looks like the tracks may continue though. If the mega city line gets the support. I guess you could eventually have a complete circle track with a space ship launch base for Year of the snake Omega supreme.

The problem is, I barely have enough space to display year of the snake in robot mode.
The vehicles are cool for their concept but their impractical to display.

still this could be really awesome if they detail the heck out of a launch platform play feature with elevators, power cables, and docking arms.

I do like the thought of third party weapons for year of the snake omega supreme that plug into those energon drone ports. Cybertron missile pods.

 

now THIS is the kind of 3rd Party stuff I can get behind!

 

This looks promising. I really need to see some color photos. The idea is nice, but it's difficult to tell execution from this teaser.

 

Baaaahahaha, does the base launch the battleship into space like a rocket?

Points for inventiveness, MT, but I think this may be a "square peg in a round hole" scenario.

As far as this project goes, it just doesn't look like it does much. If you didn't like YotS Omega, I can't see this doing it for you as the battleship isn't a rocker and the train isn't going to work well on a traditional circular track (Which this set isn't giving you anyways). Plus, if you're on the fence with YotS Omega, is it really worth it to plunk down a $100+ for him, and then $50-$100 for an add on kit when you could just get the Project Genesis full 3rd party Omega?

I'm actually very shocked we're seeing this though before anyone else even attempted a FoC Bruticus Upgrade kit.
