I completely agree. If FP would be interested in designing another combaticon, I'd like a new Brawl myself. I like RotF Onslaught and Vortex fine enough.

But as it stands, I'm perfectly happy with FP Colossus slotted in as my go to Bruticus.

That is unless...

That's probably the only way I would even think of replacing my current Brut.

it honestly needs to be done! it may look ok but ok is not good enough the hasbro components look rubbish!!! 2 fp bots that look the part in all modes and 3 hasbro that again look terrible

 

Just sayin, these head upgrades do WONDERS for the figures

 

Even though those new heads look great, I hate to say it, but I don't think there is much that can be done for the Brawl figure. There's just a lot of crap-tacularness going on in both alt and bot modes.

Although I did do this little mod to put the guns on top of the turret in altmode...





Looks pretty good in leg mode as well...





Actually, I take it back, I did think of something that could be done to improve this mold. maybe someone on shape ways could design new arms and legs for it using the exsisting balljoints. New legs/feet would fix the water ski feet in botmode, and new arms/hands would take care of the weak guns in altmode.

 

Are these head upgrades still available?

 

I would totally buy a set! In fact I'm pretty sure I'm one of the folks that once posted a thread suggesting the very same.

And sorry impactor1106, I don't make those heads anymore. I simply don't have time these days.

My thoughts exactly. Fine is not great and I'm sure we all want a great looking Bruticus. Fp Bruticus looked fine (great even) two years ago, but with all the new guys coming out (superion, both predakings, menasor, computron).he's going to look outdated really fast. For him to really go well with a modern day collection, he'll need an upgrade. Because the fact remains BRUTICUS WILL BE MADE AGAIN; he's too iconic not to be done right from head to toe.

if I was fp I would wait until all of the projects mentioned above were released and then release the new and improved Collosus Maximus

Bruticus needs to be done from scratch to be done properly--Blast Off's wings should form the chest shield. That can't be done using Explorer.

They shouldn't make 3 new figs to go with the 2 already done. We need 5 new figs to really do it right and completely eliminate the Energon aspects/compromises.

 

I agree with this. If some other company made another Springer that was designed better than Warbot Defender I'd snatch that up.

 

after posting this thread, I now completely agree that Bruticus should get a redo from scratch. I also agree with the comments about Explorer/Munitioner already beginning to look dated in light of the newer 3rd party combiners.

I hadn't realized Munitioner was so small, since I've never seen one in person. Can someone link or post a pic with him or Explorer together with a known Classics figure, like a seeker, or with another combiner for scale like a Giant Constructicon?

 

A proper 3P Bruticus can wait in light of an onrush of 3P combiners. I agree that the design is a bit dated and a real 3P Bruticus should be made of 5 new bots instead of just 2. BUT I am enjoying the aesthetics of the FP Bruticus despite its size. Still one of the best looking combiners ever imo.

 

No doubt. Honestly been saying this for a while. I don't care if they do 3/5 or 5/5 new ones but I'd be very interested in a new bruticus that didn't rely on some bots that I've always felt were pretty darn ugly. Eye of the beholder and all that, but there's a reason I didn't collect in the A/E/C era.

 

Then you're not complaining about the diecast so much. You're just complaining about the knees moving at all. Which means you can never, ever transform the figure or pose it. Because the ratchet design in the knees is that bad.

 

this v is really all that can be done for brawl, the energon one's horrible. non hidden arms in alt mode, ski feet, insecticon wings, horrible headsculpt with the collar of peashooters

 

There's a ton of other characters who deserve some love above an already-great upgraded Bruticus. I'd rather someone make the Dinobots than more Combaticons.

Given the choice I'd actually rather get three replacement figures than a whole new set of five. I know more may be able to be done with a whole new set actually designed to be a set unto itself and not an add on, but the idea of a new Bruticus set doesn't impress me when the one I have is pretty great already.

Got this done and it is a thing of beauty. Personally Vortex works for me and Onslaught looks great with the upgrade in the pics I've seen.
