This is one of the hardest choices for me in a long time. I went MMC but I still have a inclining to UT's. In the end I feel that you won't be disappointed with either brand.

 

IMO they are BOTH awesome. my personal preference is for feral rex though because i like my bots (particularly combiners) to be big and brawny. for those that prefer more streamlined profiles i think UT's combined mode is quite great. i was seriously considering them for a while because i was afraid i migh tnot like MMC's combined mode(freaing the FOC bruticus look). now that the MMC combined mode is out, i'm all in on it. sorry UT, but i wish you good luck too. i'm sure some prefer a more lean /efficient looking predaking...but i wan't my bruiser.

 

The first render of MMC Predaking looked too lanky but this new one is spot on. MMC individual Predacons look a lot better then UT's as well.

The only sticking point is size. Feral Rex is supposedly larger then Hercules and that's really too big but I guess I can fudge scale for Predaking moreso then Devastator or Superion

Look for Predaking images and you'll see that Predaking towers over the other combiners. As for the G1 Toy, Predaking is slightly taller than Devastator.

 

Slightly? The toy pics I've seen it looked like Predaking had several inches on Devastator.

I personally like the new take on Predaking by MMC as I feel UT Predaking is kind of just a rehash of the G1 figures with better articulation and some newly molded parts.

 

Damn.... MMC's Predaking is bigger than Hercules? Dammit...

Lowest price gets my vote.

A purchase if and only if any these go for the same price as FP Stunticons.

 

MMC 100%, Uniques figures just look cheap and simple in comparison and the completed Predaking just doesn't seem to have the mass I think is required which if the mmc render is a good indicator they have nailed to almost near perfection. Imo could end up being the best gestalt of all the third party stuff.

I was initially excited about these but seeing my budget has now been blown away by Takara/Hasbro... I meant what you read in the other one. Seriously trying to keep an FP purchase.

I can't even think of a nickname for it since the combined mode is soooo freaking sweeet!

 

The box should simply read "AWESOME!"

I was on the fence until just recently. but it came down to a few things.

MMC is a trusted company > UT is a newbie/unknown. So better Quality Control!
MMC = UT for money per fig.
Then: MMC design < UT design. Based on old CGI pics.
Now: MMC design >>> UT design thanks to those new CGI/proto pics.

The original MMC design looked a bit lanky and had similar issues to Fall of Cybertron Bruticus. The new pics above have shown the current MMC design to be much beefier. The Headsculpt on their Bull is also top notch and UT's cannons do not sit right with me.

That damn pic shown above basically sold me.
