Hardbone gives me a boner.... hahahahaha Ok i think someone probably already made that joke.

Anyways, he definitely looks nice as a headmaster. Still i wonder how ToyWorld and Fansproject are going to compete now. I wonder if Toyworld has other headmasters in the works because FP looks to be the better choice for better scaling and the full set of headmasters.

From the scattering of comparison pics that have already been shown, it looks like TW Hardbone can slide right in (sorry, that was a terible one) beside FP's designs. Scale wise at least.

That looks pretty fucking spot on for a Classics Hardhead. Really am digging this figure from the pictures we've gotten.

This looks pretty great, Hedgemon and Grindrod were both well designed with good fit and finish so I have no real worries about quality on this. Plus it means that my 87 Autobot headmaster collection will be pretty much complete with,

    • Fortress Maximus: Headrobots
    • Brainstorm: Fansproject
    • Chromedome: Fansproject
    • Hardhead: Toyworld
    • Highbrow: Headrobots

I even like the size differences as it gives the display a bit of variety with out being wackly out of scale with a big leader, two larger, and two smaller guys. As well as the fact that the aesthetic is pretty close so they will not look to out of place with each other, The only exception maybe being Highbrow with the fact that it is based on a movie mold, but based on the pics of it so far it should fit right in.

Fansproject and Headrobots are making some decent inroads on the 87 Decepticons as well. Now I just need some one to make a Scorponok, Apeface, and a Snapdragon and that line will be set.

Toyworld really looks like one of the 3rd party companies to look out for in the coming years.

I like Hardbone more then any of those names. It's lighthearted fun.
I could see the TF character, thinking his name is so badass when he comes up with it...then he goes and tells his buds and the all lol at him. It's pretty awesome when you think about it.

Colors and face are off enough for me to pass. Wish these other companies would take a cue from Fans Toys, as far as design. Why go 90% of the way and stop?

But if they name the Headmaster partner Viagrus, I'll buy one.

You know, now I want to put together a team of transformers toys that have unfortunate names.

    Rager
    Hardbone
    Grindrod
    Erector.

They can be lead by this guy.

    super cock.jpg

Not ever sure what the team name would be.

Unless you're a MISB collector that displays your boxed figures, don't understand why people care what it's called...

    Because it is funny?

Though to our "English as not you primary language" forum-mates, it occurs to me to ask, are there any transformers names/ random stuff that is funny when translated in to your first language?

I mean why anyone would get upset about it...yes, Hardbone is stupid (or amusing), but you don't have to, and probably won't call it that when it's sitting on your shelf.

RAHAHAHAHAH! I remember a friend having one of those Super **** robots. Wow. Thanks for reminding me about that. Soooo funny. You know... I might have even bought it, come to think of it. I wouldn't be surprised going through my storage bins to turn around and be facing that big red Super **** square in the face. Disconcerting thought.

But back to this guy. He looks fantastic. My only fear is having two or three sets of headmasters where you can't swap their heads around. That was the main selling point of the gimmick for me. I loved the notion of sending in the smart headmaster, or the strong headmaster based on the mission.

I hope/wish these companies would show more of their game plan. If I knew who was making a full set of all the headmasters and what they looked like, it would sway me to jump toward their company. As is, we have a real mixed bag of different bots... and lots of them are excellent.

I DO like the scale of this guy along with the Throttlebots. Looks good. And toes. The swivel toes just about make ANY toy a must buy.

Is anybody posting in this thread actually upset about the name? Seems like people are just having fun with it.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but I am certainly not upset by the name, and you are correct that I will most likely think of it as Hardhead* when it is on my shelf. Just a bit of light hearted fun really.

*This may be a lie, as I am having a hard time not thinking about the other translation of his name and may very well be calling it "Noodle".
