I think you've just summed up the joy that is G1 Transformers. :)

it would have been nice if it was possible to light the reactor in the torso, but now as I write, I wonder if it would not be actually done if you switch one the head's LED and rotate it so the eye facing backward, and then colapse the head assembly in the torso and close the chest, not use in robot mode for sure, but it could be looking cool in gun mode
    Anyway
new graal and proud of my collection

It's interesting that the FT Shockwave is taller in robot mode, but shorter in space-gun mode. Maybe the G1 cartoon was on to something with all that size-shifting....

I got this figure and right out of the box one of the tabs of one of the legs is broken. Now the side piece of the leg won't clip securely to the rest of the leg. Anyone else have this happen? I contacted Acetoystore and he said he would contact Fanstoys to see if a replacement could be sent but that was a week ago and no word since. Pretty bummed as this figure is a great figure otherwise.

Hehehe... Save the broken leg, repaint it some random color with some black "scorching marks", and use it in a diorama as the smoking remains of some defeated random decepticon drone. ;)

If this thread wasn't about a toy gun I'd swear it was a hippie love-in. The other anticipated release threads feel like a concentration camp. This has seriously been the most pampered I have ever felt as a tf fan. Sidecutter has been extremely helpful with answering questions (gained himself a new customer in me) and the creators even dropped by to share info along the way, even to ask us what we think about color scheme for the hands! Not to mention the product itself is top notch with few to no flaws. Purchasing Quakewave was an experience worthy of the price tag, and Fanstoys should be patting themselves on the back pretty heartily, they deserve it!

Received Quake Wave in the mail today from Plastik Krack. Hadn't expected him for a another week at least (international shipping and stuff), so that was a very happy surprise.

Haven't transformed him yet, but this is one amazing figure. (also, very purple :)  ) So easy to display and pose thanks to the diecast weighing him down. Only negative would be the absence of a button to unlock the legs for sliding in/out, but since I won't transform him that often I can live with it. Also...1-2 centimeters taller would've made him beyond perfection for me since he'd then be just a bit taller than Prime.

Very happy I got him and honestly, Takaratomy?, I can see no way you can improve on this so as far as I'm concerned: don't bother.

My MP Decepticons now have their leader unless someone makes a MP tank Megatron (G2 or even better IDW).

Use iGear's "Faith Leader" instead, then:

Although according to Sunbow's scale charts, the cartoon Shockwave should actually be a little shorter than Prime and Megatron.

I couldn't have put it better myself.

I have Ultra Leader and found it...wanting. Also too small in comparison with other MP's. (Well, except Grimlock.)

Think I'll stay with MP optimus or Rodimus as Autobot leader opposite Shockwave.
