Maybe if FanToys announces that FT-05 will be a MP Megs re-do, we'll get to see and here if TT actually has a v2 MP Megs in the works or not... :D

I'm sure it's been asked but I'm not going through all these pages. Why is his cable connected to the top of his forearm and not the bottom of it? That's the one thing that really bothers me with this guy and I'm curious as to why they went that route with it.

Well, it is G1 toy accurate. But yeah, I'd rather have it on the bottom of his forearm as well.

    2012 Cyclops, 2013 MP Shockwave. :D

    I couldn't be a happier fan boy.

The gun does look a bit blocky in the rear and his feet don't look quite right, but I'm so happy that they managed to make one of these and make it look so true to the cartoon.

I'm not a preorder guy, but once I can buy one normally, I am! ;)

Actually, G1 had the hose underslung on the bot's arm - although the alt mode here is accurate. It's a consequence of the transformation schema and the LED gubbins in the arm here.

There is an alternative underslung hose arm planned for later this year for free for anyone who buys Quakewave, but it'll most likely not include the LED feature.

(Incidentally, for the person who asked what a "quake wave" was: presumably it's a wave caused by an earthquake, which would make it loosely synonymous with shockwave, eh? ;)  )

    Really?

    This is interesting.

So it won't be a preorder only exclusive or anything to that affect?

I'm not too fussed about that feature, but I'd love to have the complete package.

I consolidated most of the information here but some of it might need better context, for which you'd have to travel back to around here.

Don't mean to be rude, but I personally don't consider this an MP in any way. It's a 3rd Party item pretending to be one.

There have been a few pics of the G1 toy shown here recently, and the hose is infact plugged into the top of the forearm...

I was basing my assertion off the G1 Shockwave I was holding in my hand at the time... but you got me thinking and after some investigation, it would appear more complicated than I thought.

G1 Shockwave, you see, is able to be easily transformed into either position - the arms have open hinges on front and back, so full hyper-extension is possible in both directions, and a bicep swivel to easily rotate them around.

The cartoon had him with an underslung hose (most of the time) with a Decepticon logo visible on the top of the forearm - so that's how I had him transformed.

The instructions and his bio card, however, clearly show him with the hose on the top of his arm. (The box art we can disregard I reckon, since it shows the wrong gun hand altogether and there's no hose in sight.)

Just to add to the confusion, the comics are all over the shop. Maybe they're all accounting for his G1 articulation - i.e. he can have the damn thing in whatever position he feels like at any given moment. :)

I don't collect Transformers anymore but Wheeljack, Shockwave & Galvatron are my favorites. I always wanted a decent Shockwave, the G1 toy sucked, so I'm probably gonna order this one.

He looks amazing and I love the transformation they worked out for him. All of their work looks great, I look forward to finally owning an item from them.

I would love them to tackle a comic accurate G2 Megatron matching his first appearance - blue face and much more militaristic camo and design. No point in doing a G1 Megatron since we know TakaraTomy will eventually do one at the new scale.

Wow Shockwave looks amazing. I must be the only one who doesn't care for the rubber hose on every Shockwave, but I can live.

Thanks, these threads go really fast and it's easy to miss some points.

I really do prefer the purple hand and gun instead of the silver, the silver just doesn't look right to me.

And if I understood correctly, the new forearm will be added in with your next product, or the retailers will ship them out with your next order from them?

You just kind of confused me with that part.

Though you have no idea how impressed I am with the non-partsforming barrel... Bravo!

I wouldn't say pretending, more or so filling in for a sorely needed character in the MP line.

It's in the MP scale, it's got MP engineering from what I've seen so far. Granted it's a 3rd Party release but it's obviously intended to go with the MP line.

I can't tell whether I'm being addressed directly in sentences past the first but for the sake of clarity: I don't work for FansToys (yet :)  ); I just get similarly swamped in massive threads like these!

As for your question, my interpretation is that FT can include a new arm piece in the moulds for their next mass produced figure (presumably Blaster?) due out later this year. Once that's back from the factory, they'll have all the new arms for QuakeWave they need to send out to retailers to, in turn, send on to every customer who bought QuakeWave and wants a new arm.

Personally, I like how they did the transformation so far, A nice hand sized handle to hold, but not terribly thin legs in robot mode. However... I do wish they did a better molding on the inside of the legs that would match the sides of the old back of the gun a bit more. I can't imagine how that change in aesthetic would hinder the toy in anyway physically. but it would definitely tie in everything in the alt mode.

Another thing I am thinking it is crying out for is those large triangular toes like the original... Those little flaps of toes don't scream Shockwave to me..
