I feel really fortunate that I was able to buy this guy when he was still a decent price and I didn't even know he was such a big figure. I got him from BBTS and it was the substandard stock and the only way I knew about him was YouTube did the recommended for you thing and I saw a review and picked him up after a very very short time to think it over. It was the first 3rd party figure I got and I'm totally glad I got him. We are really fortunate to have all these 3rd party companies making characters that we all like. More choices are better for all of us

 

I was at the 2013 NYCC and Lunar Toystore had Quakewave on display. i was deeply amazed by it! i wish i got it back then! just wow!

 

We've got a few that were missing accessories or had blemishes and ended up being returned. We're going through them now and will have an update on what's available later on. Sorry but none of these are purple.

 

Top notch, Edbomber! I'd love to be on a waiting list, as I am more than capable of painting/cleaning/repairing pieces myself. Rusty heads don't bother me!   I've been playing the "should shouldn't I" game on this for so long, if this is my last chance I'm going to close my eyes and jump.

Just out of curiosity was there just a sudden surge in orders of your exclusive? It seemed like there was a lot of chatter suddenly out of nowhere in this thread.

Ha, thanks but there was a lot of talk right before I got mine which is why I rushed to get mine. The thread was dead for awhile then there was a resurgence of talk about Quakewave and specifically the grey one.

 

Yeah, I originally passed on the gray Quakewave and then I saw those awesome photos. Fortunately ToyDojo.com through up some more and I snagged one. Now, I just with FT would do a 'toy' version of Quakewave. I sold off the original one because it was too bright for my tastes. It just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of my MPs. Glad I have the gray one coming in now though. I can't wait to put it with my black MP-10, black MP Rodimus & MP Soundblaster.

BTW, the post that got everyone fired up over the gray version again:

 

The gray QW had seen a pretty consistent volume with increases here and there. The biggest surge recently was when the last ones got listed up.

If you think about it neither the purple nor the grey Quakewave is toy accurate color wise. In some ways the grey is more evocative of the G1 toy due to it's dark coloring even if it's desaturated. The grey is also at least accurate to Shackwave (I like to call mine Shockblast to go with the blast=black theme establashied by Soundblaster).

 

It's a great mold no matter the color, but hands down purple says shockwave to me, always will. Not to mention the yellow eye, had the chance to grab the gray one because I love the mold but couldn't justify it. Truth be told though if there werent so many good preorders to be had at the moment, and got another assuming they were plentiful, I'd still get the purple and keep it sealed as a backup.

 

Not that I have one of these to compare to, but pretty sure grey version is based on this Pre Transformers - Grey Shockwave Astro Magnum - AFA 70

 

i really like that idea of Shockblast with Soundblaster! really cool! would've been awesome if Galvatron in the Headmasters anime brought 'Shockblast' back to life like he did Soundblaster! lol

 

Yeah I just sort of stumbled onto the idea while reading the wiki and how Shovkwave was called Shockblast for awhile due to legal reasons. It's so perfect.

Grindar, you are correct. That's what I was referencing by calling him Shackwave. Radio Shack Shockwave.

 

Dedguy , it should totally be shake-wave (quakewave mixed with shackwave)

Yep. I passed on a few around 300, and now I'm kicking myself.
