How many different colours of quakewave are there? A buddy of mine said there is a brown one is that true?

 

As far as I know only the Grey and Purple. There was going to be a translucent one but they were all destroyed due to QC.

 

It is just the purple and gray one. The packaging on the gray one makes it look brown but the actual figure is gray.

 

Finally manged to snare one from a fren loose without box or whatsoever for 140 USD. In very good condition except for a bit of user marks on the chest which is barely detectable. I know there is nothing special about him but he is just so amazing being... normal. The quality of the built is really amazing. I could almost believe he is made by Takara Tomy. Wonderful piece!  

 

Good find! I just saw one on ebay for $1000 buy it now and another for 375.

I'm wondering if they still plan on making him in Voyager scale.

 

I wasn't really into 3P stuff when this guy was around. I'm sure they'd make a killing with another batch ?

 

If they rerelease him, just update his hips and legs. Those were the weak points aesthetic wise in my eyes.

I would LOVE a rerelease of this guy, but I'm not holding my breath.

 

If they do re-release this guys, I hope they rejigger some of the mechanics. I own him & don't like how tight his leg transformation is. Sure his hips & legs look like they can handle the stress, but I really worry about his expanding waist area.

Because I can't see what holds him together there, I've extremely worried that will be the point of failure on my Quakewave eventually.

And the electronics could do with improvement. I've broken the on/off switch on the head & there's the whole battery size issue. Wouldn't mind seeing a change to the electronics there.

If this all comes together, and maybe painting the back of the face/eye black, I could certainly see myself grabbing a newer version. I mean, the guy is honestly tied with Masterpiece Megatron on transformation I least like. His posability makes up for it, but I wish I wouldn't feel terrified every time I transform him out of gun mode.

 

Anybody wanna get rid of their Quakewave for a reasonable price or trade me for the gray version, hit me up!

 

Exactly! That's what I'm still waiting for, and will continue to wait for.

 

If they did do another run before Toy Scoria we would probably have a riot.

 

I think the joy of those wanting another run of Quakewave would drown out the sounds of your riot  

 

Honestly, Quakewave could be found various places before he was mostly "completely" sold out, and it was not that long ago also. I think most who wanted him, bought him and those who could have found him on eBay before the prices got even further funky, got him then too.

You would be surprised how vocal the minority is. Take iGear and their "super popular" Coneheads - they made a poll because they were considering making another run, and the results were not good, and they did not make a second run. I wonder if FT made some such thing like a poll as well, and I wonder what the results would really be ...

FT has a lot on their plate now. They currently are working on the rest of the Dinobots, Blaster, Skyfire and Omega Supreme ... I'm sure a Quakewave reissue is not in the cards right now. Who knows though, maybe after all their current projects, they'll make a Quakewave v2 or something, and have the hose be on the bottom by default, change the translucent plastic parts to the optional hands and gun they made, and finally change the color of the purple slightly to better match the toon. Would be nice!

 

Igear showed an un-willingess to sell them in anything other than sets IIRC, and for all the 'bought on re-issue' talk in this form, there's plenty who won't throw $450 on toys in one go.To be frank, when i bought them in one go i flinched a little bit too.

So if iGear start selling singles, do they base it on dealer orders, make a set amount of each and hope the leftovers sell out?

Those *might* be concerns to any company... Then iGear have a reputation for not-so-great interaction with customers. On top of that, if you believe the rumors, they're running at least one other 3P company at the moment as well...One that in itself is not known to enjoy the sound of deadlines wooshing by.


QW on the other hand, FT have maybe the best customer interaction of all 3p companies, and it's a cheaper item too. I think the odds are not impossible... Although some part of me thinks there's a point at which items should stop being re-released, and if you're late to the game, you're late to the game and that's that. More so if it slows down development of new products. 3P is so competitive now, companies have to be seen to be moving forward too.
