Only thing I'm pissed about is the $ 45 I spent on G1 Shockwave parts and time and effort to make my own mp and now its obsolete in my eyes lol

I really like the arch on the shoulders. Another work of art.

I was wondering this too. If the elbows can be turned along the opposite direction, we could just rotate the forearm around so that the hose is positioned on the underside; problem solved (similarly can do the same with the other arm so that both forearms match up with the panel detailing).

It does look like you could just rotate the arm so the hose is underneath.

I was contemplating that possibility back on page 34, these pics make me think the elbow rotation is even more likely.

Design issues aside (although I don't really have any), I'm really interested in the color they use. Sort of a make or break for me right there.

LOVE the size and the look. An MP Soundwave is coming, and now this. What is the world coming to?

F that, I see peeps complaining about people commenting on this figure.

You know what, if these 3rd Party companies didn't want criticism, they wouldn't tease these figures for a year or longer.

So criticize away people, and for the people that are tired of reading that, come back in two years when the figure is released. If it is released.

I still like my custom better then this. This doesn't look right. I want MP grade.

    Pretty pumped about this.

I think the aesthetic looks great for an unfinished prototype and am interested to see how the quality turns out.

LOVE IT. so bought once they put up preorders. If i had to nitpick though I'd say shockwave looks almost too humanoid. Gone is the slight hunchback quality, oversised chest cavity and large curved lower legs. In some ways the not at all G1 accurate (nor was it intended as such) MMC Cyclops evokes a little more of the "feel" of shockwave than this guy does despite the design of thie one actually being very G1. Odd thought but anyway yeah this thing is bought. If TT wants to make one too i'll probably get that one too if it ever comes to be. One bit of bad-ish news for you "flip the arm over" people...you can see a nub on teh inner left arm in this picture which clearly is meant ot tab into the inside of the other arm in gun mode. if you turn it around...that nube and whatever else is on that sruface will be facing outside and likely won't match the other forearm's exterior side.

anyway this guys is awesome looking and his height is perfect.

    Cassetticons?

... Why? ... As I recall from the FT-2 (NOT Soundwave Pics), Takara's official releases are significantly more impressive -AND they are out in 5 months.

Unless there are some Dinosetticons and Ratbat coming, there is nothing that is gonna win competing against Takara's MP Beak, Rav, and Rum/Frez.

And I figure the missing Ratbat and Dinosetticons will come eventually from Takara at some point.

I love if FT produced Ratbat, Beastbox, Squawktalk, Overkill, and Slugfest. Especially Beastbox and Squawktalk. But BTS's Ratbat will do for now.

I'm going to agree with Alucard77, the custom Shockwave I have myself looks better than this. I'll take a pic or two when I get a chance.

Thing is, the original toy is actually pretty damn close, the biggest issues it has being the legs and the shoulders could use a bit more posability. But the former's something that should be readily easy for a third party to fix with upgrade parts, and I'm surprised nobody's really attempted this as of yet.

Customs are all well and good but some of us prefer a mass-produced product with relatively consistent quality control. That and an affordable price.

When we say turn the arm over so that the hose is underslung, we mean in bot mode (so Shockwave's head isn't obscured by a faceful o' hose), not alt/gun mode. Will need to see more pictures, but if this is anything like WST Shockwave's faithful G1 transformation, I think he will be able to turn his elbow articulation in the other direction + bicep swivel = underslung hose. Having any possible screws showing on the outside of the forearm would be a small price to pay, I'd say.

Agreed that this not-Shockwave could have used a bit more of an stylized/exaggerated anime flair when it comes to his proportions. MP-10 looks like a straight-up linebacker compared to this SW's relatively svelte/modest proportions, especially his smallish non-gun hand.

But this is me just nitpicking what is otherwise a very solid-looking effort! Can't wait to see pictures of the final colored/painted product!

I dunno wether I'm gonna jump......I was really excited at first but I think I already have a better version. I'll decide fully when final pics are out but if the eye and gun light up I'll probably bite.

Not necessarily. That was my thoughts at first too but I'm coming round.....if you have all the G1 parts you need you could make an even more accurate looking version.

Agreed, looks great with MP10 but legs and hose look bad

Looks really stiff, shame it won't be able to be underslung :(

elbows are double jointed but rotating the arm at the bicep won't work as the joints aren't centered in the arm their at the edge of it, so turning the joint around will at the least restrict arm bending to below 90 but by the looks of it won't even allow the arm to bend the other way, it's a similar design to MP11's arm joint. I can do a diagram later if needed.

Sounds like a bunch of conjecture since no-one has this in hand yet, looks can be deceiving.

And I basicly have that version above in the works, the problem I have with it is they're all parts formers. Ft has figured out how to move the gun muzzle to the backpack. I'm still on board for this version. The legs are still the handle, if anything I might take my G1 parts and merge them with this, cause lets face it, the mp 10 inspired thighs on this Shockwave look miles better than the mp Seeker legs. From the waist up,and in engineering I think he's got us all beat. Just my opinion though.
