Idk, I preordered mine before they were listed and the price was lower. He told me the price would go up after they came instock so I paid before that happened. He's a cool guy and great customer service

 

I used to be like that until i found missing pieces and crappy paint on some of my figures when i decided to open them. Now i open everything! at least to inspect it.

 

The vast majority of them are just fine. Also, I've asked Fans Toys, and they've said they will try FedEx for the next shipment, so that should minimize the problem further. DHL, in my experience, is rougher on shipments than FedEx has been. The shipping cases really are very study, so I don't know how DHL manages to do this.

Dude, that's the same way as Hasbro, TakTom etc. pack their boxes. Packing cases NEVER have any sort of polystyrene, packaging etc. - it's (99% of the time) thick cardboard boxes with toys filled to every edge. Box fitted to the figures.

It probably WAS DHL.

 

ah, that's not so bad then. I'm sure people will pay over the regular price because they don't want to wait for the 2nd release. Good to hear that he is good to his customers.

 

I'd be glad to take anyones damaged box from Capture Prey if they want to wait and take my order. I am just going to recycle this box anyways  

Seriously this figure was the hardest one for me to make a decision on. Now that I have, he keeps looking better and better. Can't wait!

It might help to notify first wave folks if they are in the first half or second half of the initial shipment. It's quite a difference between them as when their quakewave will ship out....

 

Ultimately it comes down to being JUST A BOX. As long as the actual toy I bought is in mint condition, then minor container damage is fine with me.

 

Any idea when the first batch of ppl will be getting their tracking #'s sent out by CP?

Hello All!

Thanks to everyone for bearing with us on this! We've got approximately half of the current shipment packed, and will be working on labeling those still tonight. The majority, if not all of those packed, should be handed over to the USPS/FedEx tomorrow, as appropriate.

However, the main reason for another message is to let you all know that the boxes look better than expected based on the first case that was checked. Of the cases packed so far, only a small number have displayed any serious impact on the figure box itself, and most are what would be considered excellent condition. There are of course some with minor defects as always, but nothing of any real note. So the situation is much better than we thought initially.

Quick update: The first half of what is in is packed, should be out to USPS/FedEx tomorrow, still working on the labels so hang in there for those notices...

Also, the first case opened was misleading. While a lot of the cases looked similarly rough, the heavy, double-walled cardboard used by Fans Toys protected almost all the boxes so far very well. The vast, vast majority are anywhere from "beautiful" to "very minor flaws", so I think everyone will likely be happy, and I'm trying to divert the few really rough ones to locals who won't care.

I think this might be the first Masterpiece-level toy I've been exciting about opening (versus just buying) since Takara Skywarp and Thundercracker...

Also, DHL is a joke and I refuse to do business with them. If they're not beating packages to death, they're falsifying signatures and delivery times.
