I hope SC can post some pictures of the boxes so we can see how bad they really are.

 

Why the obsession with boxes?

 

Don't you like a nice box TB?.... 

 

Some of us like nice boxes, others throw away their packaging. Different strokes for different folks simple as that.

 

Just got my Quakewave, holy hell he's nice. I'm stunned at how solid he is. Also yes, the box (and little stat card they included) is a very nice touch.

Eh, I'll be honest. Ill be prett damnedbummed if my box has significant dents, creases etc. yeah we aren't box collectors BUT quake wave has a nice box design with a flip top lid and all. The kind we all loved seeing at local stores growing up. Going to majorly kill the premium feel this thing has in hand upon arrival .... And any time you'd see the box. ( I do display some of my boxes too)

i know cp/side cutter are blaming dhl in the email I got but after seeing plastickracks photo if how it's packed .... I'm going to blame FT 100%!!! Those cases did not have near enough protection for the boxes inside. ***sigh***. This is even worse that when igear sends individual boxes for their seekers. It's clear this is FTs first big show if the specced the shipping cases like that.

So what are we as collectors to do? No way I'm going to return a quake wave for a dinged box because I can't wait to have him in hand and it'll be at least another 2 weeks before ft is back from cny holiday (and who knows how many newbies they will have at the factory then.... If you know manufacturing in china you know some people never come back after CNY and new hires replace them later that week). To ship the second batch and quite frankly with their shipping cases it's likely a good number of those will be dinged too. Guess we have to just out up with it? Which btw SUCKS! I'd pay $5-$10 more for a cherry picked one with a good box btw if sc/cp is listening! Hell, 'd even buy an empty box if it came down to it.

 

Well in defense of FT, the boxes are very thick. It would take a significant amount of damage to hurt these boxes. Regular shipping movements would not do it. If the box is damaged enough to hurt the figures inside, I don't imagine there is anything more FT could have done. Even with styrofoam lining. One of our boxes had a small ding on the outside, but the internal boxes are all perfect.

Took my boyfriend a few good pulls to tear open the front of the case we took the pic of.

All of ours arrived in perfect order. I'm sorry to hear SC's were damaged.

 

IDK, totally fine getting the second wave. It'll be coming with the opaque hand and blaster along with the batteries (Thanks SC). Also, I think this was the case of one bad ride for those cases. The figure looks durable enough to stand up to a few knocks here and there.

 

Wait,you're a girl? how YOU doin? jk. anyway, oftentimes, boxes for premium collectibles (and this is how i view quakwave) have a white cardbaord (sometimes even corrugated) sleeve or what is called a "white box" aroound EACH individual box That sleeve or box may have duplicated artwork or more than likely plain white. Each of these sleeved or double boxed if you will...boxes are then put into a shipping case. For example I've personally seen this on some bandai premium collectibles (dx chogokins for example), and from toynami "masterpiece" releases when a sore employee pulls one "form the back"(of the storeroom) fo rme. . I can't say i know the same is true of TF masterpiece boxes. I assume so though because I've never gotten one that has been less than "almost perfect".

**crosses fingers** I hope that those that throw their boxes away get crappy ones and those that care....get perfect ones. only thing i can do at this point right?

 

yeah i'm sure the figure inside is fine, and i can wait for the opaque hand (i'll get it eventually and usually prefer the translucent anyway). its just unfortunate is all. and props to SC for sending the email out informing us among many other things he's already doing (comping the hand, batteries etc).

 

I here ya. I was stoked to get a perfect Green Giant box. They did the whole box in a box thing...just reverse. Plain box was inside the pretty box

 

They showed up at IamRatchet toys. Mine ships today!!!

 

Wonder why their price is $50 higher than CP's price.

 

Very encouraging news, Sidecutter. And thanks for the heads up about the box quality. It shouldn't be too much of an issue for me as long as the figure inside is A-OK. Looking forward to getting him in-hand (I just cracked open MP-13 Soundwave last night and he's begging to have Quakewave opposite him in my Cons display)!

 

maybe Sidecutter should take note of who doesn't care how their box is and who does  ...I'm kidding. Sort of. Yes I like nice boxes

I'm a MISB collector. ( go ahead, flame me ). I will let a little nick or small dent slide in my collection though.
