Such logic is why the new masterpiece seekers have perfect transformation null rays.

Personally I don't mind a little partsforming for the super robot epic cannons and stuff.

Which would be better if they were the same as the MP-03 null rays. That's probably my least favorite part of the MP-11 mold.

Looking again at the render of altmode, there's a couple things that I'm noticing:

    1. The leg shape isn't quite as bad as people are thinking it'll be. It's only the INNER legs that have that boxy shape - the trigger splits and forms the outer legs, and it looks like they should be longer than the boxy inside. (The end result of this being that there's going to be a curve to the back of the outer portion of Shockwave's legs; it's just not visible in the picture due to the angle at which we're actually seeing the legs obscuring it.)

Another observation/question for the designers - is he going to have electronics/a working trigger? I see no gun trigger on the CG render; having a trigger that somehow stores away would elevate this figure, never mind likely be among the "little things" that TakaraTomy tends to engineer in their toys.

...this is giving me ideas of how TakaraTomy would work the barrel. Namely, rather than having it removable, have it fold in on the forearms and be purple on the inside, so that it forms the actual outer forearms.

I think the Titanium was going to do something similar, if memory serves of the prototype pics we saw.

Can't wait to get this guy flanking Megatron on one side, and Soundwave on the other side. Granted we'll need a bigger Megatron (Hegemon ain't cutting it). XD

If this were voyager size I'd definatlely be into it - not happy with either of the Shockwaves (DotM and FoC) in my classics collection atm.

Awesome for those after a masterpiece Shockwave though, hope he is well enjoyed :)

It would take a super long hinge to move it from the front of the gun to somewhere on the back of the of the robot... Another solution would be to split the barrel in two and move the hinged halves back on the arms, but that would kill the accuracy. Unless you also have them turn inside-out (with purple on the inside) and wrap them around the forearms...

Hmmmm. After staring at the pictures for a while... I just can't get over those legs. They need to fix those for me to buy one. And I'm not a fan of those fingers either. They look so thin and fragile and girly. Not a fan.

The legs are a bit overly blocky (Hegemon syndrome, I guess) rather than curved as they're supposed to be. But I'm thinking an earlier poster may be right in assuming that the outer panels of the shins may have some of that curved detailing. Other than that, he looks pretty spot on to the show model (and WST Shockwave). It's a minor quibble, in my book, if it means getting an MP-level Shocky.

It's not really an assumption; looking at the CG renders, those parts of the trigger panels have curves, and the trigger is wider than the split back section of the gun is thick. Pretty certain he'll have those curves.

On the exterior of the legs, yeah, but obviously not the interior, which kind of kills the illusion of legs with his distinctive curvature. It's not a deal-breaker for me though, but can and will be a turn-off to others.
