I pretty much agree. I'd really like to weigh my options if both this and a takara MP shockwave come to light, but I'd still support them if that happened again. I'd probably even consider both if they both offered something unique, and hell, it's shockwave. You can never have too much.

Still, I have to commend FT for not lighting up the rage when MP-13 got announced. They took their losses and banged this out instead of dwelling. That's awesome of them, and I'd really like to support them if this figure does get produced.

 

How's the quality of Fanstoys releases?

I've never owned anything made by them. The figure looks promising, but this is one that I really need to see more images, promo videos, and reviews to really make me jump aboard.

plus I'd hate to bite on this only to find Takara making their own version.

 

This is their first toy release.

That soundwave they were gonna make was way wayyyyyyyy better than this.

If Takara ever makes one I know they will make him much better and more accurate to the cartoon that this one.

I'm holding out for a Takara version instead.

i meant it might COSTsomeone in the supply chain that much/little to make, not that anyone would be able to buy the final product for that price or that anyone would make any money selling for that price.

again...i basically said "lets not talk about cost, but lets not chew that other guy out for guessing what he did for cost because it may not be that far off. lets talk instead about price" your reaction just goes to show people are too easily relegating cost and price to the same portion of their brains. cost and price are entirely different discussions. it may be my mistake for even indulging in a budgetary guess on cost when i myself am saying we should talk about price. anyway, there are far more fun things to talk about with this toy than money. lol

 

while this may be true, it looks a lot like onscreen shockwave. So not sure what u are expecting. G1 Prime looked nothing like toons Prime. MP 10 (and even 01) required some clever and complex transformation for both truck and bot mode to be onscreen accurate. G1 Shockwave to its credit look pretty close to its onscreen self. So for MP to improve really u only need to add articulation and figure out where to put gun barrel in not mode.

 

Pre-ordered on sight. To be honest, any color scheme choices, inaccuracies, or possible QC issues (excluding something catastrophic) would have no impact in the face of my MIGHTY NEED for an MP Shockwave. Best TF news for me in ages.

(Also slightly curious if any of those complaining about accuracy bought MP-05...)

 

The purple Looks great! I'd like to see the white thigh pieces be a little darker -- perhaps the same color as the feet...

BTW, speaking of cost...I'd easily pay <insert ridiculous amount here so company will feel okay with raising the price> for this thing!  

 

I think we should take it for what it is: a nice representation of G1 Shockwave that happens to be in scale with current MP figures without necessarily being a MP figure itself.

I wish the legs were more similar to the shape of the G1. The legs on this character look like generic robot legs. Shockies were very distinct and really help distinguish his character from the others.

Still, it's pretty cool, though I'd prefer a more accurate sculpt from Takara.

 

30 years and the barrel is still detachable? Colour me unimpressed
