Yeah, that would definitely be out of whack. I'm definitely also interested in which scale MMC chooses for its Predaking.

Same here and I don't mind that UT will come out first. I rather have MMC's come out late next year, gives me time to recover from Uranos, All the MPs and Fort Max!!

Warlord Beasticon Warhawk up for preorder at RK robotkingdom.com -- Online Toys Company

I'm honestly not very thrilled about that price, especially given what little we know about this set and this company.

Gonna pass for now, but very impressed at how fast they are putting it out there. Also looks pretty good, but price a bit steep for deluxe sized.

Yeah, I don't know what they were thinking. The first offering of a new company, with a more established company working on a similar project. What they'd want to do is get as many people on board as they can, and pricing like they had the track record and loyal following of TFC is not the way to do it. When Maketoys followed TFC with Giant, didn't they offer each set of two bots for 100 USD or something? And even then, adoption was muted.

Also, War hawk is supposed to become available in January. That's two months from now, and all we've seen is what we've already seen from when this project was announced. How much time did it take for TFC to go from prototype pics of Phantom to availability? Way longer than for War Hawk, if I'm not mistaken.

... I don't know, every time I look at those shots I would say "that's a good attempt.... if it was like 3-4 years ago for 3P".

I am just looking at the joints and all. I think the detailing is slightly more simple than I prefer, but that's more of an art style preference.

However, the amount of articulation on the individual bot seems to be lacking a bit.

From the photos, it seems like,

    1. no wrist joint?
    2. Head not on ball joint?
    3. no ankle joint?

It's actually "not bad". The articulation looks "on par" with a 2006 Classics Hasbro transformer (like Optimus Voyager). It's just, we are in 2012, and toy design and technology have moved forward.

Just my opinion. I will still keep a close eye though.

Their marketing and design style feels very TFC style.

The price is about spot on, anything less than £50 for a 3rd party deluxe is good, and he works out at £46. Robot mode is great, but Hawk mod looks terrible, and I'm honestly not sold on arm mode, too long and spindly, whereas hawk mode is far too broad. I know that's a misnomer, but it's just not really working for me. Very hard figure to be able to pull off all three modes well, and definitely the weakest of the group anyway. I will keep an eye on this though. Predaking and his giant stealthy robotic hunting rhino has never really been that big of a draw to me, but I'm prepared to be tempted if it's a good figure.

Which worked for Herc, and (I think) to a lesser extent for Uranos, but the GALL of UT to think it would also work for them, given the circumstances.

EDIT: Anyway, I just got worked up on the price, which I think is too high, and the preorder announcement, which I think is premature. Definitely not going to preorder one figure at a time, especially given what little about the project we know. Will closely follow how things will turn out, though, both for this and MMC's Predaking.
