so i thought maybe i should start a mixed classics/3P/MP thread where a few of us can all chat as one happy non-scale-masterpiece-nazi obsessed family.  

MP and classics threads keeps kicking us out cause we want to include third party in our ramblings... at least things are more releaxed here in 3P land, but still it might be nice to just remove the barriers of appreciation of the modern era G1 transformers, classics/3P/MP.

All three topics are on the table. Please include pictures may include of all of the above.

So who out there is running a mixed Classics/3P/MP collection modern era? What do you like about it or what aspects do you find interesting of this collecting style?

What upcoming release or as of yet unobtained items do you anticipate adding and where do you plan on fitting them in your collection?

I currently have my Hegemon with my Classics seekers and music label Soundwave, REALLY considering swapping out the seekers to the MP seekers and MP Soundwave one he comes out!! Now I just need to purchase the iGear Coneheads!

 

sounds like a solid plan.  

ya know i love the simple toon styles of lightning, destroyer and traitor, but i think ill add mp thundercracker, and hope usa mp-11s of starscream and skywarp follow.

 

I don't have a camera, but I'll be following this thread. I love seeing scale thrown out the window, as it should be  

 

scale is way too tedious to keep track of, i keep mp grimlock with henkei prime and co.

im fine with bruticus and giant not being absolutely enourmous, tfc started something they cant finish i think haha

My current Bots display (I did replace normal Rager with orange Rager though, and still waiting on Maiden Japan to send the headbox and weapon parts for Grapple and Inferno along with new guns for the Prowl triplets, as well as version 2 of Beelzeboss's Heroic Duo upgrade kit for Sideswipe and Red Alert):



My Cons display is currently being reworked (raised both Skywarp and Thrust on their display stands, and moving extraneous characters out of the shelf to make room for MP-13 Soundwave; MP-06 Skywarp's head was replaced with a new head from an extra TRU MP Thundercracker I have laying around in case an MP Skywarp v2 never materializes, and I plan to Reprolabel and parts-swap the FP Insecticons to be moar geewun once the Deluxe Insecticons drop):

those look great. ive admired your collection for awhile now.

i like how they made mp-11 starscream's face darker than thundercracker.

great idea swapping the head out on skywarp.

i hope a tru mp starscream and skywarp are coming soon.  

 

Thanks, really appreciate it! Yeah, I like Screamer's dark face (and upside down Con symbols -- traitor! XD) to distinguish him from his mold mates.

I got MP-06 Skywarp as a gift for my wife while we were dating (she loves the 'Warp) and I'm hard pressed to sell or replace him, so I just swapped the heads. Looks pretty good with it, especially with the Takara mold's shiny paint job. The hip kibble doesn't bother me very much, especially with him on the display stand. I was toying with the idea of getting MP Sunstorm and putting him where Starscream is, and moving Screamer out in front of Skywarp with his coronation gear on, but we'll see.

I put Thrust (my fave of the iGear KOs -- he's just so striking) in center of the Coneheads and also raised him up on a display stand so MP-13 Soundwave can stand in front of him without blocking too much of anything (dude needs to be with his G1 cassette minions, of which I own most of them sans the duocons).

I rather hope Takara announced that Shockwave would be the next Con to be released in the MP line so he can stand opposite of Soundwave to flank Megatron (or in this case, ToyWorld Hegemon). But I won't complain if Megatron v2 is next (Hegemon is too small, even raised on a stand).

I just need a better digital camera to take pictures with. Maybe this Christmas. Aw, who am I kidding, there's too much TF goodness between MPs and 3Ps for me to devote money to a new camera, lol.

Nice display, man! I wish I could double up on figures like you did to display in alt mode. Very cool! (As is, the new MP scaled characters starting with MP-10 will be my "doubles" for alt mode. XD)

I do have some doubles but mostly of characters who did double duty in both G1 and the Wreckers (like Perceptor). Which reminds me I should take pictures of my Wreckers display but I'll wait until I get Steelcore and Assaulter in first.

Now this is my kinda thread....altho my collection also includes a high number of customs. I'm planning on a whole new shoot when I finish my latest effort so will chuck some pics up then.

i see those henkei smokescreens and i am envious.   i love the look of that light blue paint and chrome... i think santa would bring me one for christmas if he could just FIND one.

of course there is also the danger he could be replaced with an mp model as soon as sometime in 2013 and then i wouldnt really even need it.
