AgesThreeAndUp.com is selling the RFX-002 Customizing Kit, to change a PRiD Voyager Megatron into a PRIME style Galvatron. This kit was designed for some local customizing classes, so its designed differently than the regular Renderform kits, as this requires painting and some gluing. An instruction sheet will be included. The kits being sold will be casted with Urethane resin, in purple for the head and chest, and translucent orange for the canon. We decided this would allow for minimum painting for those not to experienced with customizing. However, I recommend painting parts of the Megatron figure as well, to get a better look. The Creative section here on TFW2005 has some great resources for those that never done a custom, plus, I'm sure you can get some help with any questions over in the Creative General Discussion forum.

This kit is limited to 100 sets, and we ended up with left over kits after the last class was done. I had gotten interest from people on facebook that couldn't make it to the classes, to release this kit. So heres your chance. This mold will be retired once this run is completed. And yes, this kit still allows to transform the figure into Jet mode.

You can preorder the kit here:

Renderform Dark Emperor Garage Kit - Ages Three And Up

Attached are some photos of the testshot (black and clear), and completed customs from the classes we did, to give an idea how the figure can look with a paint job. I'll update within the next day with how the retail version looks in purple and translucent orange, unpainted, and with some minimum paint.

    Update:

Here are photos of what the retail run of these kits look like. Along with what it looks with minimal painting. I just used silver on the face, chest, and canon. You could get away with not painting the canon. I also used black for the eyes. Took me around 30 minutes to paint it up, with each silver painted area getting two layers of paint.

Yes, these are made with Urethane resin. Parts I recommend gluing are the two canon halves, and the face to the front of the helmet. However, you can most likely get away with not having to glue them. For the custom class, we didn't glue those parts.

The kits will come with the front crown pre-glued to the front helmet.

The chest piece does not require to be glued. You just unscrew Megatron's original front chest piece, and put the new Galvatron chest piece into place, and rescrew it.

Wow, this is amazing. Definitely preordered, can't wait for this.

Okay, A3U changed this the last time I used it -- I selected pre-order, I checked out as a guest, they sent me an email saying my pre-order was confirmed. That's it? I don't pay for anything now until it shows up? Or am I going to need to put some money down?

Last time I preordered was Awakening and I had to pay 10% upfront so I'm a little confused.

I honestly don't know. But if you got an email, I guess your order is confirmed.

The order ID is the number for your order at the store. Someone with order ID #187 could of just ordered a MP Sideswipe, or order ID #189 could be for an order for the G2 Bruticus. It is only a number to reflect your order, and to reference it. :)

Yea, guess I'll wait it out or fire them off an email.

The email says I should be getting an email to pay off my deposit in the next few days, which I assume is the 10%, but I don't want to wait for the email, find out there was a problem and miss out on this awesome, awesome set.

I don't know what method you guys used, but when I ordered I used paypal and was able to make the full payment. Order #178 here, and I don't think I would have been able to pay if there weren't any kits left, so no worries, especially if you got a confirmation email.

Neat, though I'd have preferred an add-on kit to turn the TFP Megatron mold into Shockwave instead.

As Venksta stated, the retail kits are going to be cast in purple and orange for their respective parts, so minimal painting is needed.

Really, the only painting you'd have to do, if I understand it right, is paint parts of the actual Megatron figure if you want to match him closer to Galvatron. He'd probably still look ok otherwise.

To be honest though, you don't need a high degree of skill to just slap some purple on Megs :D  Just get the right type of paint and go to town. Megs actually already has a nice amount of purple on him already that you could get away with not painting him at all if you don't want to.

For all those wondering, A3U sent me an email last night that confirmed my order and that they are just awaiting stock before I have to pay.
