I think a lot of people are assuming that igear is completely aware of MTMTE's take on Swerve. They may just be obvious to series despite them being fans. I personally just read vol.1, now I gotta have that Swerve and Tailgate, more so Tailgate.

Eh, it's a chance we take on any toy that we buy. 3rd party is definitely pricier, but it's hard to fault a company for trying to capitalize on demand for a figure by releasing an "improved" version. Though I do think that given the small run of 3rd party figures, if you do decide to buy the later "better" version, there will always be a market for the old version.

Oooh, extra thought, when Dr Wu make a new head (and maybe new chest) for Swerve, can we have his rivit gun as well, pretty please?

I can't remember, do these minibots use 5mm handle size weapons? If so I can use my renderform rivet gun.

    Minis Filled in...

Not sure if someone did this or not... so I took a minute to do it. This was the original "teased" silhouettes filled in. Notice the Wheelie, Powerglide and Pipes.

Also, they really should have done a better job matching the colors from their reference material.

Yes and we do buy repaints, as long as the color is nice and the figure is good.

Seems like a trend to have one off G1 colors and the other more G1.

I really like these but if I buy them I'll have to buy all the iGear minibots releases and they aren't cheap. Sigh decisions decisions.

Yes, the alternate face is the way to go.

Igear are the guys behind Generations Kup's IDW alternate face, moreover they included an IDW face in both their PP05s. I can't see the point in buying a figure that should homage the TWO cartoon appearences of Swerve and then get a Dr. Wu's MTMTE add-on.

Rager and Hench were my first 3P figures. Planning on getting Cogz next.

It's a solid block of plastic from just under the nose to the chin. Pretty much all renders, teases and photos had a mouth, the retail figure has a girn.

The difference is fecking awful, my Hench will be going under the knife to have this ugliness corrected. Why they changed from the perfect design they teased boggles the mind.

Maybe I need to see the book. I've only got a few of the new TPBs... I would just think that one figure should be all we need, but if he really is THAT different, I can see where you're coming from.

That's probably the best solution. He never had that other face, even as a toy, right?

And I'm all for having a bit of personality in my TFs, especially the G1 ones. Smiles and smirks and frowns are all good in my book, and can really make a figure "pop". :)

Yeah, maybe. I could probably come around to this way of thinking... especially if I felt reasonably confident that this would be "it" for Beachcomber, and we won't get any "toy colour" reissues.

Unfortunately, I don't feel that way. Not yet, at any rate. But who knows if Rager was a one-off? I may end up preordering this anyway.

    Yeah, what he said. :)

    You meant oblivious, right?

Still, I think they're probably more aware of it than you think. I mean, that Kup Cygar head... that weapons set with the sniper rifle and dual pistols for Perceptor - that's all very obviously based on the IDW comics. So they've gotta know about this stuff...

Maybe it just didn't occur to them to make a smiling headsculpt, though? It's a pretty rare thing to see in an actual figure.

    Nice, thanks.

Good choice, you'll like it. :)

A lot of people were disappointed with the headsculpt, but it's not as terrible as some would have you believe. It's not nearly as good as what we saw in earlier pics, but if it had looked like that the entire time no one would have complained, I'm sure of it.

We just got our hopes up. It's too bad iGear couldn't come through on the earlier details, for whatever reason, but it's not a bad headsculpt by any means.

Anyone 'in the know' heard whether iGear has any plans to go back to press on Rager and Spray at the new now standard size? Rager's not so bad at his current scale, as I always pictured him as more compact and stout, but the difference in scale with Spray is grossly obvious and makes him look like an utter shrimp by comparison. Would be nice to get larger size versions of these two guys to make the line seem more homogenous.

Is that supposed to be Wheelie? Not sure why but I always assumed Windcharger, especially based on the more blocky head design, which was his standard geewun look.

Read through the last few pages ;)

I also wouldn't read too much into that teaser picture......Cogs wasn't on there....and neither is Windcharger or any of the Throttlebots.

Just speculation. I'd be nice, though.

Funny, I have more of a problem with Rager's size than Spray, but yeah, I'd take either in a larger size.

I would have been happy with the small size too - I just want everything more or less consistent.

Also he needs to be a deeper or darker blue. While I like this color of blue, Beachcomber was a darker color.

So the retail has the square chin or the grin? Which is it, cuz you said both.
