it's nice when other companies communicate, but i don't expect it. and we certainly aren't OWED it. they make a product, we purchase it. either people will stop buying FP stuff or they'll continue to. if lack of communication is enough for you to pass up some awesome toys then i'm not going to tell you you're wrong.

that being said, i don't understand the negativity towards FP, or calls for communication from a company that has never been strong with it.

I'm defending no-one, nor wishing any lack of extras on anyone. I'm just over the moon that I'll be able to own one of my Grails in the not-too-distant future.

agreed, although i'm glad it entertains you. the responses from some people here make me sad and less enthusiastic about the community.

 

I would assume it is because the newer groups that are releasing top notch items are becoming vocal on this board. That voice is making the purchasing from these companies a much more enjoyable experience. You can tell by the tone in those threads.

I will also add that like you I adore FP and love and buy everything they put out. Yes we are not OWED anything but my points are being made because when the trend is now to get a voice on the forums, how long will FP's name be good enough to sell items on name alone. I want to see FP to continue to grow and not grow stagnant while other groups surpass them.

 

I'm going to get on my soap box for a second again here. To those defending a lack of information from FP, stop. Why? Because you're wrong. At least in the case of munitionernand explorer, mini quake was advertised and was a feature of the preorder of the set. People preordered, and bought the item über the understanding that they were getting something that was advertised. They did not get this, and thus far no information has been given as to why. That for all intents and purposes is false advertisement, which is illegal in most countries, and a misleading of customers. This is also illegal.

Legalities aside it's a shitty practice nonetheless, and regardless if FP willfully participated in it or not, if they did not know about it, they were complicit in the spreading of misinformation about their product that directly benefitted their sales. This is a blatant disregard for their customers as people and more then reducing them to a set of tills to skim. They do, in the case of this rerelease owe their customers an explanation. If you believe differently, you're just fanboying them and being fucking ******ed. So grow a set, and when one of your friends does wrong, call them on it. Just like me, Transbot, and others are. Rushing to their defense will net you a sum of fuck all from them, and a look of contempt from the rest of us for your blatant disregard to see things as they are.

Now in regards to the MM release and Stunticons, they owe us jack squat. It's preorders, there's some pictures, we have general ideas, so for now, we're good until new preorders to up. Then we get more, I'm fine with that.

Same thing with the Hardbone matter, I don't think they owe us a tipping of their hand to show us if they're making one or not. They may or may not. If they do, it will fit with their line and sizes. If they don't then you had a chance to get Hardbone whom was larger in size and not compatible really aesthetically from a size standpoint with their Function X releases and that's all there is to it.

 

It really doesn't seem to be a big deal. I ordered the set from TFSource.com, and I was under the impression that Quake came with it. If it arrives from TFSource.com without it, I will absolutely be contacting them to await a solution.

If they say it's not included per Fans Project, at that time, I will either ask to return it due the discrepancy, or keep it because I liked what I received. It's not like there's not enough third party stuff to spend our money on.

Regardless of how you feel, there is a solution that should satisfy.

It's been what, a day? And people are up on soap boxes. Ha! This is the reason folks are calling melodrama. The reaction is too much, too fast. In all likelihood it's an honest mistake which will be resolved soon. But everyone's all up in arms already!

But by all means carry on.  

 

other groups can release what they will. i buy FP products for their style and quality. to me they are worth the money they charge for them. everything else is secondary and irrelevant to that in a purchasing decision.

they're not running a popularity contest - they're selling a product. again, it will sell or it won't. i'll put money on which of those i think is more likely to happen.

On the matter of if FP should change or not and provide more information, I do believe they should? Why? Because everyone is doing it and it's proving to be successful, and in business as well as nature, there is only two real options in the long run. Evolve, or die.

They did that once yes, but thus far the bread and butter is based on a market not being tapped. When that paradigm changes, people will adapt.

I'm still fine with the level of communication. We have the prerelease pics and these are simply reissues. There's very little surprise possible.

That said, I'll be disappointed if the extras do not materialize. I'm still buying this as it finally completes a personal grail at a reasonable price point, but I'll be a bit disappointed at Fansproject.
