Yes! And I like soccer moms too.

Yet I fucking love Alternators Smokescreen.

Anyway, the Throttlebots as a team didn't make much sense. A Testarosso, A Corvette, A Ford rally car, a VW Beetle, a Jeep, and a dumptruck. If Toyworld want to reconcile them to be a team that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb to the casual observer, then more power to them.

you mean like mine? only thing is, I race mine, and haven't washed it in over two years. if you're afraid to drive it, don't get a driver's car

I just went back last night and reread Spotlight Metroplex from IDW Volume 4.

It seems like the overall theme of the bots in the IDW universe is being couriers... with emphasis on getting a package to a destination in one piece and as fast as possible.

Toward that end, Wideload would be the package carrier, Searchlight the forward scout, Goldbug the leader, Chase and Freeway interceptor/escorts, and Rollbar as a vangaurd. A well rounded team for a specific job. I don't know that for a fact... but it makes sense to me!

I love em all, But then I'm just a sucker for regular car type/style Autobots in the spirit of Season 1. Nothing special, just anything you'd normally see on the street.
Don't like my opinion? Go opine yourself.

For me that's one of the key unique features of the original Throttlebots, the four-wheeled feet. I'd even have settled for mini faux-wheels on the feet, but rubber tyres and a motor would have been great too.

I'm confident better Throttlebots can be done, and at this stage in the 3rd party game (with competing versions of the same characters) I'm happy to hold off and hope some other group does them better justice down the line. If it never happens, so be it; it's not as if they're major players. But I can't justify the expence when they're not what I really want them to be.

Am I the only one that remembers this?:

Beezelboss new project for 2012

I prefer the Beelzeboss effort tbh. I was tempted by TWs not-Rollbar, but their not-searchlight is not so appealing. Problem is, Beelzeboss hasn't given any further updates for the project.

Yeah now you mention it...! I guess I assumed they were one and the same and had simply morphed their project into TW Rollbar etc. But yeah, I hope those other Throttlebots go ahead too cos I think they would be more like what I'd want.

I had forgotten all about that those. I hope they see release, if so I'll take them over TW's.

Need to see size and robot modes before I even consider those. So far Beezleboss haven't made anything that interest me, so I remain with TW for the time being. I do like the accurate alt modes, even though they are just drawings.
